Hi and welcome! Well with 18 years of marriage and 3 kids, I would say you will have no problems!

It doesn´t matter where you are living (Mexico or Canada); you will send everything to Mississauga first, where they will approve the sponsor (step one) and then once you are approved as a sponsor they will send everything off to Mexico city for stage two. (so you just need to worry about sending it to mississauga...the rest they will do.)

Stage 2 is where they check the applicant´s (your wife´s) info and your relashionship etc...

This is how it usually goes:

you send everything to mississauga...they will notify you (the sponsor) when you are approved as a sponsor. This step is taking a few months now.

Then they will mail everything to Mexico City.

Mexico city will send an AOR (ackowledgment of receipt) to your wife, to let you guys know it is in Mexico city and being looked at.

Thank you so much. That is what I thought and you have explained the exact way. I wanted to be sure. Again thanks and I might have some questions on filling the paperwork, so I might be bothering you soon!

Have an excellent week!

Welcome Frank! I would definitely fill out your application while you are in Mexico, so you can bring all the necessary documents back with you. There is also a spreadsheet that you may find helpful.

Once you apply 'Missmymexi' can add you to it.

That's great! Maybe after you send that they'll send you the AOR, since they'll be adding stuff to you file anyway! :)

Welcome, Frank :)

This is definitely my week, because if I don't hear anything by tomorrow. I'm gonna start sending case-specific enquiries like a madman (Tomorrow will be a month since I gave them the FBI police check)

Should that be the last thing required for you?

Either that or an ARC. That's what I'm dying to find out, as they've already asked for pretty much everything else, and my case is officially approved by the Immigration Appeal Division. So they have no choice but to give me my PR.
