I meant from Mexico to Canada! I know about the 10 year rule, its crazy! lol.

yeah thats the link for importing a car from mexico to canada.
:D

we were going to buy a car here and bring it back to canada. but decided not to because my spouse would have to try to get a visa to be able to drive through usa and that seems like a hassle.

so we deicded against it... :P

gracias for the link.. there are so many rules it seems really complicated. We wanted to do the same but we will have to see!

Hello guys,

I am filling out the generic application for Canada. Question 11 on Personal Details (date and place of your last entry to Canada) was blanked out while entering the info into the pdf. I am mexican citizen and currently living in Mexico, but I have gone to Canada to visit my husband for a few days recently. Is it ok if I leave this question blank or should I specify my most recent entry and exit from Canada by hand?

I wouldn't leave anything blank.

Hi! We had the same problem, my wife had visited and it took the option away when we selected Mexican citizen so we left it blank and included a copy of her visa and we wrote on the additional page about her trip, don't know if that was the correct way though, but it's funny that the PDF does that.

Thanks, did you guys get the passport back yet??

Just an update on our PPR...It appears that hubby's passport has been sent! We are just waiting for it to arrive. According to FedEx it will be here by Wednesday. It is like watching paint dry ::) We will be so happy when it gets here so that we can hit the road and head across the border.

By the way, concerning the waybill that we sent with the PPR, apparently it worked out ok sending just the waybill(inside the plastic window pouch). So for future reference, you don't necessarily need to send the envelope. I am thinking that they probably stock FedEx envelopes at the embassy.

Yayy! What a relief!! Good to know about the waybill. We sent them a DHL waybill on Thursday. Is he in Canada with you?? I can't remember. I think you have an option to take the passport to the embassy and get the visa the same day right? I think this is what Nessa did. We'll definiately do that if it's an option. It seems to take a while to get your passport back!

Yes that´s what we did! You drop it off in the morning, and then you go pick it up at 3pm. :D

It was fun because you get to sit there in the embassy with all the excited people and see their happy faces while they call out their names and give them their visas. :D

He is in the States and I came to visit him because we knew the passport was coming. Had he been in Mexico, we for sure would have gone directly to the embassy; it saves so much time! Yes, I think Nessa went directly to the embassy. It took them 8 business days to send it off. By the time we get it it will be 2.5 weeks. In the big scheme of things, I suppose it is not that long of a wait, but when you are at the end of the process it can seem like an eternity!

That's great! No waiting! That's definitely what we will do then (knock on wood of course!! lol)

Hello, and welcome Kazza!

Since your country of residency is not Canada, that question greys out and they know not to expect an answer. That being said, after printing, I would fill that spot and all the other grayed out or not applicable questions "n/a." On the family side, CIC has been quite understanding with blanks, but for economic class applications they are known to send them back to you for being incomplete if you leave anything blank. I wouldn't want to be caught up in the midst of the family side getting stricter and therefore suggest not leaving anything blank. ;)
