The officer who had our visitor's visa application called us and advised us to withdraw because a denial is a red flag. We lost the fee but withdrew.

We applied before the PR sponsorship, had return tickets booked and paid for as well for my son in law. DENIED! Our immigration lawyer who used to work for immigration told us that 95% of applicants for visitor visas are denied.

I checked ecas today and DECISION MADE! (Step 1)

It says that a letter was sent on May 16 regarding the decision. I wish they had just emailed because now we have to wait! I can't call on Monday because it is a long weekend in Canada. I just hope somehow the letter reaches us tomorrow, May 21. We are going nuts!

I also found our old PPR. It was an email dated May 3, 2010. There are 5 possible things requested and several items were checked off. It is interesting to see because I have honestly forgotten everything and now I know what to prepare for.

In 2010, our application was received in Mexico on March 26, 2010 and PPR was received May 3, 2010. I hope it is that fast this time! That is only 1 month and 7 days. I doubt it, but it would be nice!

I thought it was always an email. Well regardless, congrats!

interview is the hardest part in applying for a visa, immigration or citizenship I guess
but just be yourself, be honest and don't forget the most important details, everything will be fine :)

Nope. It's a toss up. Our AOR was an email so I thought for sure we'd get approval by email too.

I'm not sure if this is directed at me but I'm 99% sure we won't have an interview. Thankfully!

Yep! And February only goes to 29. They'll be starting March apps soon.
