Quick update!

Crazy how I was literally just mentioning this earlier today, but the couple I know that applied end of February ( PA Nicaragua) just got notification from Sydney today that their file is being transferred to Mexico.

I think that is great news! It was starting to feel like that got stuck on December and January

Yes we are still waiting....

We are March 7th, I'd estimate we are going to wait another couple of months realistically. I noticed they are barley transferring December and January. ( I also know of a couple PA also from Nicaragua that sent the last week of February, they are still waiting as well)

Maybe hoping for something in November!! Just praying we don't go far over the 12 months, if that happens we will count ourselves very lucky!!!

Our file just got transferred to Mexico on Oct. 3rd and we are Jan. 4th applicants. So it's been exactly 9 months in the system before transfer to Mexico. Don't believe we will make the one year mark but at least it's moving, not lost or buried somewhere!

I'm a Quebec applicant and what I find curious about this letter is the ending: "Regards | Cordialement, Immigration section" Regards is English, and in Quebec a government letter will never be mixed with English. I have no doubt THIS IS A FAKE LETTER. And yes I know this letter comes from the Canadian Embassy in Mexico but the same language rules apply. Besides I'm NOT an immigration expert, but Family Reunification is Federal, and yes I a few months ago the Quebec Provincial Government significanlty reduced the number of applications but those were related to students visa, work visas and NOT Spousal sponsorship because it is under the Family Reunification Program wihich is Federal. Regardless, the moment I saw this letter which sadly comes from an unreliable third party source, I considered it FAKE NEWS

That is a legit email from the Mexico office that is always how i gotten emails from them, that is the actual signature yes. The email isnt from the QC government.

I have the ss of it as well but i cant upload pics in this forum.. the email is 100% true and verified. Not fake at all. The girl is on the QC fb grp.
U wont receive emails from quebec gov while you wait for your app, its mexico that will communicate with you and their emails always is signed that way. I got over 30 some emails from them written that way as well, while we were waiting for our app.

Before you jump into saying its fake, read more first, you would see the email was sent by IRCC Mexico to the girl’s lawyer.

I had that email too before we had my husband interview. It came in June, august interviews came and we werent in it, then september ppl started to get emails about being in october’s interview pool so we contacted mexico and argued how we still werent in it but ppl applying after is was.

2 days later we had our date. That was in 2017 mind you so keep eyes on it all

Thank you ! Yes we will. I email them at least twice a month as to not be missed hahaha. It’s been a long 13 months we just want answers. I mean people from the July interviews still have not received passports backs ! It’s unacceptable , and I hope that they start to clean up the back log

Yes I am in touch with a few others who’s spouse is in the DR as well and in interview queue. I’m sure with all of us communicating we can keep an eye on it haha

It is a real letter
It was not from the quebec governement.
It was from IRCC Mexico, i seen the letter, i have a screen shot of it..... it is real.

I had tons of emails from ircc mexico, that is their authentic signature.

The couple I know applying from Nicaragua got their transfer 8 months in. They also told me yesterday of another couple they know of applying from Nicaragua as well.

They are October 2018 applicants and received their DM and pre-arrival one week before the 12 months. Seems like Mexico is getting to ball rolling and hopefully they can keep gaining momentum until the end of the year.

I know you had talked about this a few days ago but I was still curious about the Quebec immigration plan and I found this information on this same Canada Visa website:

I don't know how accurate this is or if it's in reference to the new immigration laws they have in Quebec but it seems that they do have some kind of cap on immigration of all different classes including family reunification. According to what I saw there the Goal for family reunification is 8,900 and the maximum immigrants or 9,400.

Has anyone else been able to confirm if this is really the case for Quebec applicants?
