Oh really? And he can drive right away here?
I can't remember the exact details. I will ask my husband. But it does allow them to for a certain amount of time (6 months maybe). I do believe you still are required to do some sort of test here but it is much easier with that paper and some have to start from scratch

No its not the same, its when you link your application to an account you create on the cic website. So when you log in you see messages, the same as the ones u would get via emails, and updates on your file

Pcc’s are valid for 6 months but are good for a year for CIC :)
Partner's pcc was issued Nov 13, 2017. I am sure if/when we get the interview, they will ask for a new one if he gets approved. I take it that you can't enter Canada without a valid one?

I also thought that they are required to do a road test. I had a friend who immigrated to Canada 2 years ago and he said he went for a refresher type of course (a few hours on the road with a driving school) and then he took his road test and passed and got his driver's licence issued by the province.

So if you had your licence for a long time, you can skip the road test?

I hope they don't ask us for a new one too. If they do, we will have to get it translated again. More money and work involved.

You probably already have a place here in Calgary, but if not, I have been using one that is decent and costs $30/page.

That is good he is fully licensed in his country so he will just do a refresher and then he can do the test. Thanks so much. All i want is for him to be here for Christmas that is all I ask.

Really? We used this lady who was a court interpreter (she was a member of the provincial association) and included the notarization in her fee. She charged $50/page. Does yours do the same? If we need to do another translation, maybe I can get the name off of you?
