I asked them the same as you did, I ordered notes too I hope to get them before August 14, they are taking 60 days to complete my notes. I am not able to check on ECAS, because my representative doesn't want to create the account for me. at this stage of the application 10 months already I don't know if is necessary to have a representative.
I agree that at this stage, if I were you, I would also cancel the representative. Did you mean GCKey account? I think eCAS you should be able to check yourself.

i dont see why the gap between marriage and applying is important - we got married on feb 4 and sent our app feb 27... we wasted no time!!!!
If anything it's probably the longer the gap the more questionable the relationship. If you truly want to be together wouldn't you want that to happen as soon as possible, rather than wait some months after marriage to see if you really want to live together and apply only then.

Hi everyone, we just received an email request from Mexico VO for a copy of my step-sons passport. And to confirm intended Canadian address and to confirm his current address in Cuba. Wow... terrific news on a Friday afternoon. Application sent Nov 16 2016. Cleared as sponsors Dec 2016. File transferred to Mexico Dec 2016. File Opened in Mexico March 31 2017.

Hi there, im wondering if you could tell me the initial of the officer on the bottom of the correspondence you received?

Is really stressful not knowing whats going on, I also have a rep and they like to have the communication at minimum but they are pretty good answering some of my questions, they follow requests and update very efficiently and I am not worried about having them. This guy worked in immigration before and is very practical, he told me since the very beginning that our application was gonna take time but that it was possible for my then partner to come back as he believed the relationship is genuine and thats the most important thing, he wouldn't get my case if he did not believed we really were in a relationship. I know i want to see the process to be done quickly but I understand that patience is key, I have to wait before I can ask the lawyer for un update as i know that if they heard anything from CIC they would let me know asap. They would also inquire information if they believed it has taken more than the expected time.
I am really sorry to hear you are having a bad experience with your rep, I can't imagine wait extra time for the notes, I hope when you received them they send you the most updated notes. The first notes i requested took more that the 30 days and they were generated few days before i received them giving me the most up to date info about my file. I can't wait to request them again :D.
Well I will have to cancel my representative I don't feel comfortable with him now. Hope I get the most Up to date info on my notes, i can't wait for it, meanwhile I got the chance to travel as a tourist to Canada is going to be a good excuse to stop thinking about the process while I am on vacation :)

i dont know that it means they have concerns about the relationship as our notes the office wrote "i believe the relationship is genuine". it could be that they are looking at something else. its sucks because we all have our own stipulations and theories and none of us can be proven right lol
I Know this process is making me insane... wanting to know whats going on exactly. Thats a really good sign in your notes. :)

I think so too, one usually marry another person to start a life together, however other people say it can be a red flag depending on other factors in the relation. initially we wanted to apply under common law but we didn't have enough to support our app and we couldn't marry because my husband divorce took almost a year. but as soon as we got the divorce certificate i went down to Mex to marry this awesome man, he did proposed in Dec 2014. but he was deported few months after in 2015, we really wanted to rush and apply but couldn't until Jan 2017. it was slightly over a year since the deportation when we married and just few months after we applied, i think that is what it makes it complicated.

sorry i hope i was clear, i haven't been able to sleep well and my brain is being lazy.

I received the following response from the MP's office today:

I was in conversation with Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada this afternoon. They have advised:

· Visa office won't advise of interview in advance
· When an interview is required, a request will be made
· Eligibility is in progress
· Security not initiated
· Criminality, - July 21 request made for RCMP criminality record check
· Information has been received
· Criminality is now in progress
· Medical valid for applicant until May 18, 2018
· No indication on file an interview is needed at this time
· Average processing is 12 months - January 25, 2018

In my request, I asked them to make an inquiry with the VO in Mexico. However, it seems that they only talked to someone at IRCC. I guess it is good that so far, there is no mention that we might need an interview. This information though is all stuff I already was aware of, so there isn't anything really substantial that they could find out for me.

For those of you that made an inquiry through your MP, did they talk to someone at the Visa Office or at IRCC?
I am pretty sure you won't be going to an interview, that fact that they extended your medicals are good sign. i also think that you'll be done before January, 2018. you won't heard from them for a while but when you do it would be great news... thats the feeling i got! :)

Wow, thanks for your encouraging words! I really hope you are right about the interview. I don't want to get my hopes up, but also sure hope all this will be done before January 2018. Before Dec 7, 2017, the average processing time for Chile was 18 months. It was one of the reasons that we didn't want to apply and why my partner tried to come under an economic stream. Our story is kind of complicated as I see some of you talking about why people should apply right away after getting married or living together (that happened for us in 2012 to 2013 and a whole bunch of things happened between that time) and fast forward 4 years later, here we are, but not that we didn't want to be together. It was another red flag for us, however, we both wrote letters explaining our relationship and the circumstances behind why we waited so long to apply (mine was 3 pages long) as per the old application where the immigration consultant told us to write this. Since it was already written, we decided to include it as further support of our relationship, along with letters that friends/family had written for us to verify our relationship. I hope that helped and still crossing my fingers that after the eligibility review, they will waive the interview. We shall find out in the next couple of months, I suppose.

So why do they renew the medical for some people and not for others? Anyone have the answer to that? Is it a positive sign that the PR will be approved?

Wishing you the same, that you won't have to go through the interview!
