Great news Paris Visa Office started working again. For residents of UAE they usually request for the passports to be deposited at Canadian Embassy in Abu Dhabi. Your PPR instructions will have all the details.

I didn't get what you have just wrote.. for UAE residents, the visa office that process their applications is London visa office not Paris, as I live in UAE and my file is processed in London.

Please explain.

DM after MR is a good sign..but its preety fast.

As per the trend of LVO which is unlike to NDVO, you may get PPR very soon. Do update with your progress.

Yes you are right, initially it was London Visa office for all of the UAE residents. However, for some of us they changed the Visa office to Paris during February / March 2013. You can find more details here.

Coolguy was in a similar situation and he wrote a status inquiry to which they responded with PPR. Try sending a personal message to Coolguy, he is very helpful and may provide a draft of CSE in French language, some kind of secret weapon used by him for PVO
Good luck.

Can somebody share why did they ask Police Certificate?

Since you are a PAK resident....they want to have a final back ground check...they do not have time to get you under surveillance any more as it could drag more time and Visa office too have a time line to close and conclude on your case...
