@legalfalcon Hello buddy, Kindly help me out,,
I am PNP Inland Applicant with AOR MAY 1st.
My work permit is valid till November, 2021. LMIA Based work permit.
I want to ask that if I want to apply open work permit, can I apply?
KINDLY NOTE, When i put my all information in my IRCC profile about my current situation, It say, You are eligible for open work permit and give me the option to proceed with the application.

My old owner sold GAS STATION to New owner and I have some issues with them. I asked my agent to apply for open work permit but he told me that 4 month or less validity rule.
Kindly you suggest, If I am getting the option in IRCC account for applying Open Work permit, CAN I APPLY OR WAIT FOR PR??

If your PR application is in progress, you are eligible to apply for BOWP.

Who can apply for a BOWP
To be eligible, you must:

  • live in Canada (Quebec not included)
  • have a valid work permit that expires in 4 months or less
  • be the principal applicant on your permanent residence application
  • have submitted a complete application for permanent residence and passed the completeness check
  • have your acknowledgement of receipt letter
    • we send this letter to your account after we get your permanent residence application

See https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/extend-permit/bridging-open-work-permit.html

IF you meet the above, you can.

Hi @legalfalcon
I applied under CEC in may 2020
and
I did not claim points for job offer or PNP.
Only points claimed were for 1 yr of Canadian work experience and education.

Now that CIC is taking so long to process these applications I was thinking to switch my current job. So, do I need to NOTIFY CIC about the job change. Also, does the new job need to be under the same NOC or it can be any kind of work.

Lastly, I presented my work experience on application with my employer as Jan 2019 to CURRENT. Does this need to be updated using a web form that the employer specified on file is no longer the current employer?

Please help, thank you!

If you did claim points for your current job, you should inform IRCC that you no longer work there. There is no need to provide any documents though. This is because, if IRCC wants to verify your employment, they should be aware that you no longer work there.

This will depend on your status in Canada, and your condition of your WP, where you are on PGWP, LMIA, closed work permit, ITC etc.

Only if you claimed points. Not if you only had it in your personal history.

Did you order GCMS notes? Which date is your last update? When your eligibility was passed? I have the same AOR date.

Hi,

Did anyone see the new thing they added to the profile? They said instead of calling filling out a webform if there is no update on the profile for a long time.

Hi everyone, my BOWP is expiring in August, 2021 and I am waiting for my PR decision (AOR May 30, CEC Inland, Bio-exempted), so am I able to extend my BOWP? If yes, should I do it now or at a later date? Thank you!

It took them around 200 days to process my BOWP. If you don't what to be stressed about it, submit your application ASAP.
Having said that, I know some other applications took only 60 days to complete

So I can get my existing BOWP renewed? Do I apply online for open work permit?

One point to note here regarding eligibility for BOWP :

Who can apply for a BOWP
To be eligible, you must:
  • live in Canada (Quebec not included)
  • have a valid work permit that expires in 4 months or less
  • be the principal applicant on your permanent residence application
  • have submitted a complete application for permanent residence and passed the completeness check
  • have your acknowledgement of receipt letter
    • we send this letter to your account after we get your permanent residence application
As your current work permit expires in August 2021, you are still not within that 4 months eligibility range. However, please do consult other experienced forum members opinion as well. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/extend-permit/bridging-open-work-permit.html

It's finally good to hear. What about your security? When did you pass?
