Short form: when he gets the passport back with COPR and visa, he can come to Canada.

Of course, he has to get a flight and check with airlines to make sure they will let him board, and also keep in mind the 14 day isolation period and health / insurance considerations.

Important: whatever processing times you may have heard in the past (i.e. how long to send back the passport with COPR after PPR) may no longer be relevant. There may be delays. Staffing worldwide is affected by the virus and health restrictions locally and in Canada, etc.

But you've passed an important step (congratulations!) and just wait and see what happens. To be blunt, expect delays but it should all work out in the end.

I'm a Feb2019 applicant and haven't got ppr yet, do we need to do new medicals if the application takes longer than normal? Medicals passed April 19 2019. Decision made January 28 2020. Thanks for any info

Thank you, I wish you will get the decision made soon!

Hi,
Did you get your PR already?
I have a quick question, Do they send the passport to be stamped in visa office in Paris or it is stamped in Canadian Embassy in Alger.
