you'll for sure get yours this week. actually i'd rather receive an email than a DM on ECAS, it's hard when you dont know what the decision is. but at least we know that the papers are moving. best of luck to all of us!!!

Well if they dont do something this week, when the processing times update on thursday or friday it'll we be passed the time frame
and they will have to talk to me in the call center and let me know what its still processing.

Sent application May 25th, was signed for at Mississauga May 27th.
First email from CIC was received by hubby (sponsor) on July 2nd to say they had begun processing.
Sponsor Approval on July 20th.
Called CIC to find out if my application has been forwarded to London office. It has. Was hoping we might get lucky and they'd keep it in Mississauga for processing. No such luck.
I guess it's a year long wait now...
I'm pregnant with baby due Nov 19th. We plan to fly to UK with baby next May for a wedding and to introduce baby to family. Would love to have PR before then so no fears about leaving Canada/border crossing.

I am ahead of you and still waiting. Processing started June 26. Wife going nuts but I don't like pestering CIC by phonecalls too much in case I get flagged as annoying persistent caller and they slow me down more. The processing time webpage says they are working on applications received since May 25 so they allow me to call as that was my date.

I dont know why they take longer for this application and faster for another. It makes me think they just
throw them in a pile and grab whatever one looks like it will be less work for them that day.

Or they do something weird with your application. Although we applied in March, I feel like we applied in May - they sent our application to Ottawa by mistake before we got SA, which was determined after a few weeks of calling...so it had to go back to Mississauga and we finally got SA late last week, about two months late. So who knows where we go now in the queue...

I am so sorry that your experience has been a nightmare. We're at 77 days and counting, and we'll be calling weekly until we hear more than "it's in process." I'm just curious, but do you think that you prompted the return of your file to CPC-M by inquiring, or is it possible that it could have just slid on by at Ottawa and eventually resulted in PR without a formal SA?

That's a good question, but I never got an indication that they were looking at it in Ottawa. Based on what I see on the forums, CIC is such a stickler for following "the process" that I think it would have gotten kicked back to CPC-M no matter what...and the inquiries were what got it back there sooner rather than later.

The other thing I think might have happened is that we might have actually been approved back when we were supposed to have been, but the officer who looked at it never marked it approved in the system. The call I made last Tuesday confirmed that it had been sent to Ottawa prematurely and that it was "in transit" back to Mississauga. Then on Saturday ECAS changed to DM on the sponsorship. That seems super fast for them to have looked at it again and evaluated it, which makes me think that one of two things happened - it was approved before and just not updated anywhere, or it was flagged so it was dealt with right away. Or I guess it was actually in transit back to CPC-M earlier than I was told, but the call center can't see anything beyond that. It's all a black hole at certain points in the process, and I suspect that's the case when call center agents look too.

Be persistent with the call center. I called once a week for about 6 weeks, was always polite and always gave them just enough information to let them know we were truly late, but not so much that the agent would feel like they didn't have to go look. They can see that you've called before, but I never told them that, and I also never told them what the other agents had said about our file...I wanted to make sure they went to go look themselves.

I have some good news.. My husband called today the immigration, so they asked him his birth place and name and some information, to look his file. After they told him that we got our SA , and our file transferred to the London visa office. I'm so happy , I can't believe .also she gave hima our application number . And told him that this two days he will receive a letter from them. ..thank god ...

That's not unusual since people often get the notification after ECAS changes, but if I don't have something by Friday, I will call. At that point, I will ask the agent if they can see whether they did anything to our file in Ottawa. But I doubt they did...

i was told the same thing when i phoned & yes it's really frustrating. u'll be put on qeue for so long & will get nothing from the agent. my ECAS says correspondence sent July 24, but have not received an email. let's wait this week & if we stil dont get anything, we could phone them again.
