They probably are just disorganized. Your email, along with some investigative calling should solve this. Normally the call center wouldn't tell you if they received something, but in this case, you received another email asking for this specific document, even though you have proof that you sent it to them.

The following language was at the bottom of the October 23rd batch letter:

Cordialement/Sincerely,
Case Processing Centre – Ottawa/ Centre de traitement des demandes – Ottawa – FCPBR22

I bolded FCPBR22 because it's some kind of code for an officer/individual/department at CPC Ottawa. Maybe there is something similar near the bottom of this new email. Good luck with everything and let us know how it goes.

Thanks again!

I don't see any code in this newest EMail received today. However, from my Oct. 23rd batch EMail, I have the same exact code at the bottom that you do.

I'm hoping that they are just a little disorganized at the moment due to high volume, and maybe i was sent this letter before they actually confirmed whether or not I had sent in this clearance. This was the only piece of the application missing - everything including medical was sent in from the beginning.

COPR today!!!
What a pleasant surprise. I went home for lunch and checked mailbox just in case, and there it was!

Timeline on my profile.
I received batch email on Oct 23, specific inquiry email on Nov 9, replied back same day
DM on Nov 22 (I think it was before 22, but we were away from home)
COPR dated to Nov 18. valid to Aug 19, 2016

I was so worried throughout the whole process b/c my spouse's medical expired(done last year Oct), and police certificate was 5 months old, both of us had name change done, my spouse's citizenship certificate had old name still, travel dates are all messed up because we just visited too often by ferry and by land, my spouse was unemployed at the time of application, we only had my sister, photographer, and commissioner attending at the wedding due to my family emergency and all our friends and my spouse's family flaked out on us at the last minute because we were having the wedding in Canada not in US!

Anyhow... To all of you worrying... there is light at the end of tunnel always.

Now for the vehicle export... please reply if you remember or saved a link for US export topic. Someone left really good info on US car export, and I can't seem to find them again.

I just checked ECAS and I have Decision Made!!!!!! ;D

great news :D congratulations my friend!

We also received Decision Made today :)

Okay, so freaking out a bit - did anyone else just receive an email requesting FBI clearance certificate?

I'm 10000% sure that I sent mine in with my application and just got an email requesting it. It didn't say anything about "if you've already sent us this please disregard etc etc" so I'm really worried that they've somehow managed to lose it.

I'm calling in to CIC asap but it's not open yet. Grrrr.

Any chance this could be another batch email? Or am I looking at another four-five months processing time?

I got DM too, a very special Thanksgiving gift !!!

I am not US citizen, so I think I'd wait for a passport request (PPR), right?

It depends. What's your citizenship? If your country is visa-exempt, you'll get COPR right in the mail. Congrats, extreme!

Congrats to you, too! Oh, man. What a good day for May applicants!

It's still far enough away from December 25th that hopefully everyone can land before Christmas who got DM today.

Hello all,

My wife's application was submitted May 15th and we just got our passport back stamped with her PR. I just wanted to take the time to thank you all for your support and insight. This is a very helpful tool, because lawyers had told me to go a different path and after reading this forum I went against their advice and was successful. Good luck to all, and hope that you get your approval in a timely manner!

God bless.

Hey, fruitball.

Did the email also ask for the RPRF, medicals, etc. or is it solely for FBI?

I read that someone else had this happen to them on a thread here; I'll have to look and see who it was. They sent their report in weeks prior, and still got an email like this. Let me see if I can't find the username . . .

EDIT: Here it is, from this actual thread:

Unfortunately I got an Email today that asked me for my FBI Clearance, even though I sent it and it was delivered and signed for on November 16th, 2015. I've sent them proof of delivery, the signature, and a scanned copy of my FBI clearance, letting them know they already do have the original. I have been searching everywhere and I can't seem to find anyone so far who has had this exact problem.

If it were ANY other document I could sent in a copy no problem. But I can't send in the original when it should be in their office. I'm kind of at my wit's end with worrying here.

Maybe reach out to JamesinCanada and see if he got any answers from the CIC, etc. I know it's not exactly the same, but it could perhaps help some.

Thanks for the help - unfortunately it doesn't say anything about other stuff, just the fbi certificate. I was so careful with my whole application but I think I managed to not make a photocopy of my police certificate :(

That may have been a very time consuming mistake. I can send in proof of payment but otherwise won't have much to show them. I'll message jamesincanada and hope he can help.

Thank you Ineffable.

I am a Chinese (Mainland) citizen and I now study in the United States with F-1 status and will graduate very soon. But I still have valid Canadian Temporary Resident Visa (TRV, i.e., the visitor visa). So would they request my passport for another Immigrant Visa?

I think I got this same EMail. I posted the email in another thread I started (it's still in the front page somewhere, I just updated it.) I noticed you said you made a photocopy - did you send the original? They only accept original. If you sent the FBI later, I am thinking they may not have connected our FBI clearances with our apps yet.

Another possibility is that my FBI clearance was dated June, 10, 2015. It says they are good for six months, which will be December 10. However, I am a weird case because even though I'm outland, I have been using visitor extensions to live with my husband in Canada. I've never actually lived in the USA for the past couple of years. I think I read they can use your clearance for longer if you have not lived in the country.

They did send me an EMail today telling me that they DO have all the required documents at this time.

I'm just not sure what to think at this point.
