My mailing address was Canadian. In fact, both my residential and mailing addresses are Canadian but they are different; it was mailed to the mailing address.

It took one month for the applicant's entire process to have COPR in hand??? This has to be some sort of record. Ottawa is really trying to bring down the 15 month average now. Whats next? Two weeks?

yep, this is the 3rd or 4th may applicant to get approved through ottawa. and 15 months has not been the "average" for ottawa for some time now. as i'm sure you know, the posted stats are not true "averages" and are NOT an indicator of TODAY'S processing. For the majority of visa offices, the current "trend" is far shorter than what is listed on the CIC site.

I do. Looking at your Ottawa sheet, I was astonished to see how, the applicants processing time shrink from 3-6 months, to 2.5, to 2, and now to ONLY one month processing time. All of this in a very short time frame. Whatever Ottawa is doing, it seems to be working. This time next year, I am guessing the posted wait time from CIC to be around 3 or 4 months (down from 15).

the hope is that it continues this way!

Yep. I don't know what prompted me to check the status of my application last week. I had a funny feeling in my gut, it was very odd. I was so worried something must be wrong when I saw the "Decision Made" that I joined the forum, only to find that others are experiencing similar time scales in these last few months.

Kinda sad that I haven't gotten any response from them, I got an email from CiC last June 26 and was asking me to submit Option C which I know that I was really stupid to forget that. So I mailed it to them as soon as I can and they received it last July 11. It's been more than a month now and I haven't heard anything from them. Anyone had the same issue? :(

Did they give you a deadline in that email?
If they say you have 60 days to mail it in, there is a chance that you might not see anything for that full 60 days.
You can also order the case notes if you want to check on them, but those take 30 days.

A lot of waiting in this game.

If they received it on July 11th they are going to base your application as if you sent a complete application on this day. I know some people were lucky that the officer looked at if prior to the deadline given on the letter I.e 45 days but others like me where I had to submit a document too well it's based on the date they received that piece of document. I know it sucks but I am in the same boat as you. I know they are basing my application on when they received my document as I can see online on status.

You weren't stupid to forget! There's so many forms that the likelihood of leaving one out is increased a lot. People do it all the time!

Yes i got an email from them that 45 days is my deadline, thanks guys. I'm just really really frustrated missing that one document. I so miss my spouse and I wanna be with her as soon as possible and I know all of us do. Hopefully we'll get a response :)

there are times when they will continue processing the application when the missing form is received. they don't ALWAYS wait until the "bring forward date" listed in the letter. when i had a missing document, it delayed my app 2 weeks, and they continued processing it when it was received. so there IS a good chance you won't have to wait the full 45 days.

You were lucky it only delayed your application by 2 weeks. Mine has been well passed the 45 day timeframe. So I'm very unlucky :(

well i imagine it depends on what information was missing. i only missed the additional family info form that really is only used for future sponsorship eligibility and doesn't have any bearing on the application being approved, or the sponsor being found eligible. not all forms are equal, so i would guess if there was a form missing for the sponsor, and it was an important form to determine eligibility it will take longer to get processed. CIC has to do their background checks based on the information provided, and sometimes it takes time for them to get the information they need.

I was missing the same form as you.

well obviously things have changed since march/april! sorry to hear that! keep faith it will all be ok. have you recently called CIC for an update? there are some june applicants who have called to check in and they have been told over the phone the sponsor has been approved weeks ago. they haven't received any notification from cic otherwise. it's worth a shot. i made my husband call every week until we heard something!
