Hi coolblues,

I went in to Scarborough office with all my paperwork and managed to speak to an immigration officer. I was lucky, I walked in and he just happened to be at the front desk chatting with the security officer. He looked through my paperwork, my tickets etc and he asked me to send a cover letter with all the supporting documents and there would be no issue in changing my oath date to a month letter. He was very pleasant and seemed transparent and honest. He even gave me his name to contact should I have an issue. So a very positive experience and I have his word that I will not be pushed another year out. I have decided to request my test date to change. I have sent out the letter already, and waiting to hear back from them.

I am with holding names and details for obvious reasons, but I realized after this interaction that immigration isn't as horrible as we make them out to be. They are just doing the jobs that they are supposed to do and make Canada a safe country for all who should legally be here.

I don't understand here. you mentioned that you want to postpone your oath and in the following line you mention that you hope they would re-schedule your test.? what does that mean? oath or test?

Hi all,
Congrats to everyone who had their test/oath and good luck to anyone still waiting. I had some very busy months with a new jib and a new house/schools etc., but everything is really fine now and we are enjoying some new aspects of Canada that we haven't experienced before .

Ok my Update:
Invitation to Test sent May 12, received May 20
Test Scheduled May 29 (Mississauga office)

The whole thing was funny, i called exactly 3 times in the whole application process. 1 before and twice after our fingerprints issue. I called to ask if they received our FP and I was told that they got them in the first week in February. I was then told that my application is now a non-routine application and I shouldn't call before May 2016. I called last month to change my address and when I asked I got the same information (just 36 months and not 2016 this time). I knew from other posters that they had just 4-5 months delay after a FP request so I wasn't worried and expected to have an answer within this year.
The second thing I want to mention is that people should be careful with mail forwarding. We moved 1 month ago to our new home. I called to change the address before I moved and the officer refused to change it until I really move. He was kind and mailed me the link to change it online (which you can do prior to actual moving). I got my invitation delivered to the new address but my wife's was delivered to our old address and was not forwarded by Canada Post. When we asked we were told that government documents don't get forwarded. I can't believe this but that was the information we got. We got the letter anyway so it is not a big deal.

So, I hope everything go smooth on Thursday and we get an Oath date before June 12; I really want to vote in this Ontario elections ;D

Light at the end of the tunnel. I got a call today from an officer from the Scarborough office. She asked me a few questions about my return dates and availability for oath in June/July. I had sent them my flight tickets, nonetheless she wanted to check with me to make sure I was available during those months. At the end of the call she said thanks and mentioned that I should be receiving a reschedule letter shortly within 3-6 weeks.

I strongly believe that this has to do with the officer I met at the Scarborough office since I put the name of the officer on the address section of the envelope I mailed in. I am happy that I did what I did.

I will let everyone know as soon as I get more information.

Hi coolblues1980 and May'13 applicants,

I had my test today. It went well. Easy if someone studies. I got 19/20.
After came the real part, meeting with the CIC agent.
She asked me multiple questions:

- Company name I work at
- Position at the company
- Salary
- Married or not
- Have kids or not
- The company name my wife works at and position
- My wife's salary
- If we own or rent
- Is my wife a Canadian citizen? Is she a PR? Why hasn't she applied for the citizenship?

The agent said that the more information she puts in my file the stronger it looks for the judge. She was writing this info on an application template for the judge I guess.
Then she went thru my stamps on my passport which was a mess. But I was prepared with all the info. I explained the missing day in my application and the days that I was off entering Canada (I took red eye flights multiple times, so the entry day was off by a day because I used the exit stamp from the country I was coming from). She said that I have good amount of days over the 1095. So she redid the calculation on a revision sheet that she will present to the judge. In total I was off by 3 days while I had 33 days originally over the 1095 (she also said that they always advise applicants not to apply with exactly 1095 days just in case there were mistakes similar to mine).

She said she was satisfied with my application and I should get the oath in 2 to 4 months
Before the end of the interview I mentioned that the reason I visit country 'X' a lot is because my wife is from there. She added that in her notes. I thought by mentioning that the judge will realize that I am not married to someone from my country and therefore the risk of me going back is minimal.
