Hard to say without knowing more about your situation. Was your divorce a local one or was it with someone from outside the country? Do you have children with your ex-wife? etc etc. Hard for anyone on this forum to give you feedback without knowing more.

My wife received the letter for test today, test is set for Nov 26 in Scarborough. She had taken a small vacation for 3 weeks and we had called in to report her absence. Pleasantly surprised how this was taken into consideration and booked for her test right after her return.

hah - I should have read to the end of the thread. I guess you've already changed your flights - in my case it would have run into thousands since my entire family would have to change their plans. Congrats on getting your ceremony and on becoming a citizen very soon!!

I completely agree. I would call the CIC regularly(when the process seemed to slow down between checkpoints) to check on my status after my RQ was submitted. Despite a RQ request, my case was very quick(by RQ'd standards) and I took a little over 12 months to become a citizen.

If I were you, I would bring proof of your father's condition to your test and share with the officer interviewing you. That way, the officer can put it on file and may or may not expedite the oath ceremony. If you have to leave before the oath ceremony, at least you still have the information...

I was referring to sending your passport by mail overseas, not locally. Also, referring to mailing them privately from one person to the another, not to/from an embassy/official government body. Most international couriers will not courier passports for that reason. I'll try and find the info...

It is illegal to mail passports - if they get apprehended by authorities, it would land you in deeper issues.

The good thing is you can tack on the two months to your days in Canada. When you resend your application, resign the last page of the form with the new date and send in a new calculation from the online calculator. I feel your pain though, I was in the same boat. Got my citizenship though...

I had this happen to me over a photograph. The application will go in as a new one and go to the end of the queue.

Hi Chandu, Don't worry, it seems like a positive step that they are moving your file to St. Clair. It means that someone has been assigned to review your file. It shouldn't be long now before you are scheduled for a test. What does your ATIP say?
