Got my citizenship on May 27th 2013 :) and then my sister applied!

Here is my sister's timeline: (Downtown Toronto area)

First received the application on 9th of May 2013

Held it for 2months(I guess thats what they do, receive the mail, and store it for 2months) then they realized that some silly checkbox was not filled and they sent it back.

We resent it on July 31st

They received it again on 1st of August.

Held it for 2months again and then updated the online status to "in process" on the 1st of Oct 2013.

Funny thing is, on Ecas its showing that they mailed off the "Discover Canada book" on 9th of May which is impossible cuz they sent the application back as it was "incomplete". Anyway, she finally received the booklet this month (Nov) which clearly shows that they mailed it AFTER Ecas updated to "in process" which was in October. This is just silly, people might worry that their book got lost, or their address on the application might have been wrong. Its so generic, once they received the envelope they just update on Ecas that they mailed the book, but they don't do that in reality!

Anyway, sigh.

This is what E-cas says for her case:

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on May 9, 2013.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on May 9, 2013. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We started processing your application on October 1, 2013.

My sister just got the letter to appear for the test on Feb 3rd at Mississauga centre! :)

Applications are going pretty fast now, Good luck to all those who are waiting! (mine took ~18months, applied Dec 2011 - Test 25th April 2013- Oath 27th May 2013)

I got this today in eCas. Not sure what it is yet. But considering that I traveled 23 times outside of Canada, I would not be surprised that it would be an RQ.

We sent you a letter on December 11, 2013. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the letter before sending us additional information, as the letter will outline all information that is required. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

It turned out to be not an RQ. Hurray. It is a letter to confirm the full name. I only received today even though it shows 11 December 2013, luckily I have 60 days to respond.

Glad to hear it's not an RQ, though it's a little scary to see the mailing delay on the document.

For other applicants who see a note like this and worry about RQ, please don't. As far as I have ever seen or ever heard, RQs are not noted in ecas with the possible exception of post-test RQs (not sure about that one). RQs and RQ responses are ecas invisible.

No warning for an RQ. So, if you're being warned, it's not an RQ.

Great! But why would they want to confirm the full name? They have, I believe, enough documents including the PR showing the name.

Farrous13, I heard that they would request the "full name clarification" or "finger printed" if there is another applications with "similar name" ...

Is anyone in this forum from Calgary?

Here is my timeline - Chandu007, pls. add me into your listing.

Thanks for the reply. A finger print is understandable. But full name clarification! Lets says someone's name is John William. And the PR, Passport, Bank Statements, Pay Stub...etc. state the same name John William. So the CIC will have doubts and ask for clarification. lool Ok. Yes my name is John William. Funny.

BTW, you should check the April 2013 thread (I don't believe they have a table, I suggested it just a few minutes ago).

But keep us posted.

Not really related to Finger prints. I fill my application as "First Name" "Last Name". All my documents (being from the Middle East) show "First Name" "Middle Names = father name and Grandfather" then "Last Name".

They said they cannot do "First Name" "Last Name" unless I have a document that shows that explicitly which I do not.

If I am unable to provide the document, which I won't be able to, they gave 3 options and I am sending a letter back to them to confirm my choice. I wasted my self good 45 days. :)

My birth certificate shows my middle name. I am from the middle east too ;D
But all my other documents show just my First and Last name.
What's your local office BTW. Is the letter from Sydney or the local office?

I called CIC today and was told that my file has been transferred to my local office (Kitchener, ON) as of Jan 10, 2014. Hoping I would hear about my test soon. Any May 2013 applicants having Kitchener, ON as the local office?

Maybe not on this thread, but there are lots of Montrealers without test dates from 2012 and 2011. Frankly, it looks like more recent applications are being fast tracked.

Yes. I am comparing my timeline with the timeline of applicants who applied in the same month (+/- 1 month). Not really relevant to compare it to applicants who applied in 2012 or 2011 since as you said: recent applications are the ones being fast tracked.
