My husband and I have decided to make the move to Ontario without the COPR. He is a US citizen, we will be moving all our stuff with us through the buffalo boarder. Is there anything we will need to know. I have printed off the AOR and Sponsorship approval letters, to show. Anything else I will need to know?

You should have no problems as long as you have all of the letters from immigration. We just moved back to Canada November as my husband is also waiting for his approval and I had to re-establish residency. He was able to get a visitor visa for a year no problem. And I had to fill out the B4 forms to bring some of my stuff in. We also had another form for those belongings that will be following us at a later date. Once my husband is approved he is able to bring his belongings in tax free and i think that includes the car. We will transfer all the car stuff once he's approved so we will do more research when that time comes.

I was super anxious but It was quite painless and super easy, answer all questions and be honest. The border guy we had was super cool. he really didn't even care what I was bringing when I was arriving. We have since crossed the border several times and it has been a breeze!

I can't believe I am writing this, but we moved to PEI in August to have our dream of owning a farm. We have been married for 16 years and have two teenage daughters. He just left me for another woman. Anyway, my question is this: his application for PR is now in process. I am not making any hasty decisions, but can I still revoke my sponsorship if I decide to go that route?
Thanks for your help.

Had a q.

Well, as if by some Christmas miracle, and one day before our wedding anniversary, we received PPR 28 minutes ago.

The conversation went like this...

I checked my email and screamed, "OH MY GOD!!!"

DH Screamed "WHAT?" Thinking my teenage daughter did bad again...

Then I laughed, then I cried and handed him my computer.

This is officially one of the best days ever!

Very good news!

I'm really sorry to hear this. This must be a very difficult time for you. I don't know what else to say other than hoping life will have it easier on you in the upcoming year. Hang in there!

As for your question, yes. You can withdraw your sponsorship before the processing (and some say before landing). From your previous posts, I learned you have been "In Process" since the end of November. If they still haven't issued the visa and if your spouse hasn't landed yet, you can still withdraw your support.
After that, there is absolutely nothing that can revoke the sponsorship. Hope this helps.

I would think that since you were sponsoring him as a spouse and he has gone off with someone else that you really no longer are qualified to sponsor him. I would cancel it and get him deported.

I'm so sorry to hear that :( You can still cancel your sponsorship, no question about it. A relative of mine was in a similar situation and she had the application process cancelled. Do it quick, if you plan on doing it because if they make a decision before you cancel the process then there's nothing you can do anymore :/

Thank you for your advice, this forum is so helpful and supportive. I have not decided whether to let him stay, so he can get a job and pay child support (plus see his children for their sake, not his), or whether we should all just go back to the states. I see a lawyer next week, so that should help with my dilemma. Thanks again and happy new year!

Since he's American he can make the effort to travel I would say. Since he lacks the common sense and basic courtesy to live up to his commitments I wouldn't expect him to pay child support. Kick him out of the house and sell his crap on Ebay.

Everyone else has offered their advice, but I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am to hear this. I hope that you and the girls are okay, and that the new year brings you three girls much happiness.
