hahaaa, thanks I'm actually pretty surprised myself that I was able to wait this long before asking about my file, considering i'm usually the give-me-everything-right-now type of person I wonder why they never informed me that they've received my application and that I've been accepted to sponsor ???

as long as your file is in London you shoudl be fine.
If you have a UCI or file number starting with F, then you should be able to check online.
there is a thread for London VO if you want to join as well...

Hi all,

I just received an email from the Rome VO that my visa is issued and is being forwarded to me with the prepaid courier waybill I sent them when I sent my passport.

finally happy.

Great news! too bad you had to cancel your ticket and now you have a visa, but it's great timing, and so much better than the 12 months written on the website! impressive... congratulations!

Checked on our status today and saw that they finally started processing my wifes application for PR! Any idea on timeline from when they start processing to when we receive notification that everything is good to go?

We submitted on May 5th, I received sponsor approval on Aug. 17th and now they have started on my wives PR application as of Sept. 24th.

don't loose hope - it will happen for sure... it's hard to wait especially when some visas are already issued etc, but you'll be fine!

We were in Buffalo, but when that office closed our application got moved to Ottawa.

i am sure all your visas are coming! don't lose hope !!

an interesting statistic that pretty much gives an idea of the amount of applications CIC processes.

I filed my app on May 15th, it began processing on August 8th and sponsor was approved the same day.
So 92 days of waiting on a shelf, a few (?) hours for processing.

VO says it started processing my app on September 18th and they requested PP on September 20th. So let's say 3 days.
They received the PP on September 24 in the evening and they sent me a mail that the visa is ready for pickup on the 26th in the morning. So all in all let's say 5 days for Vo processing, while it was 42 days from sponsorship approval to file opening in the VO.

So in total let's say 6 days of processing and 134 days of waiting on a shelf.

hmmm. interesting.

That's fine! That's what I WANT to see. Proof that it doesn't take long, but sheer volume of applications is what's holding us up. Works for me!

just an update

my wife just received her PPR this morning Sept 28th.

it stated: RETURN THIS FORM WITH THE REQUESTED DOCUMENTS: Valid passport or travel document for yourself. This must be received at this office by:11/05/2012

and i have a newbie question i'm not sure what they mean:
Please ensure your complete application number, name and address in Chinese characters is included with your correspondence and address your correspondence to the Embassy at the address indicated below

do my wife write thsoe info on a seperate sheet :-[?
