And she got last Friday. ( just 4 questions on the
Phone and they asked to bring the passport.
Told her to wait 40 mins , 2 hours later
They gave her the passport with visa

I guess some people are just lucky.
( they only did the civil marriage last November )
The questioned her why she didn't have the
Wedding ceremony.
She told them she wants to have it
With her husbands family.

I sent an email to CIC asking why I hadn't couldn't log into ECAS using my file number.

I got this back:

Dear Madam/Sir,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Sponsorship applications must be sent to the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga (CPC-M) where the application will be reviewed. If the person being sponsored is residing in outside Canada the file will be sent to the appropriate visa office abroad, new a file is created and processing of the permanent residence application will begin. Visa offices abroad do not process sponsorships application but get involved later in the process to review the permanent residence application of the spouse.

If you, the sponsor, have questions related to your sponsorship application, please contact the Citizenship & Immigration Call Center at: 1-888-242-2100 (you have to call from Canada). There is no telephone service available from overseas. For Canadian citizens living exclusively outside Canada, send a fax or write to

Case Processing Centre - Mississauga
P.O. Box 3000, Station A
Mississauga ON, L5A 4N6

Fax: +1 (905) 803-7392

Please see the following website for a list of standard Mississauga processing times: www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/times/process-in.html#sponsorship

The Case Processing Center (CPC-M) will advise you when your sponsorship is processed and what the next steps are.

If your sponsorship has already been processed, and you have already received the letter from CPC-M, note that as soon as our office receives the completed application from CPC-M, a file will be created and the processing of the permanent residence application for the spouse will begin. Please note that file acknowledgements of receipt in our visa office in London are not sent to the applicant. Please rest assured that you will be contacted when we are in a position to proceed with your application. We endeavour to finalise sponsorship application for spouses within the validity of the applicant's medical examinations.

Our office is unable to provide any further information at this time.

Yours sincerely,

Bonita,

I got a similiar response last week. It basically said they are receiving a high volume of appilcations so could not give me any information at this time. It felt like they were saying they have lost my application!!!
