You will be most likely getting approval via snail mail. Not too many people get turned down at Stage 1.

Why it should be bloody ridiculous?

Its ridiculous that one gets their AOR 2 weeks after they send in their application while the rest of us still wait who applied weeks before you. If CIC has a policy that they process applications as they are received then this shouldn't happen. I don't think they do have that policy. I think the process is biased. How else can you have June applicants get their AOR's and approvals before May applicants and so on.

It's confusing becaus the email did not say anything about an AOR or Sponsorship approval. It just says "we have received your application thru the mail" and that's it. So I dont know if this is the same as an AOR.... They dont give enough details.

That is an AOR they confirm having revceived your application

I would love to take a copy of the spreadsheet to my MP and ask him WTF is going on? If people can be processed that quickly then process everyone. This BS of having applications sitting in a mailroom somewhere untouched for months is completely unnecessary.

Have you called them yet? They may have approved you... I never got an email so it is worth calling to find out if you haven't already.

Here is a copy of the email I just sent to my MP:

While I do appreciate your letter of July 31st I would like to further update you on my situation with CIC.

Contrary to your time limit of 91 days and the posted time line of 86 days my application has now been 96 days and still I have not received any reply from CIC. I have called them twice over the last 2 weeks and have received varying answers to the same questions. Most importantly was the question of processing the application based on receipt. While being assured that applications are reveiwed as they are received the facts would speak to this as a lie.
I belong to an online immigration forum where people in the process exchange their experience and details as to when they sent in their applications and in what times they were processed. Here you can see where June applications have received their first stage receipt and or sponsorship approvals by the end of July. One applicant's paperwork was received by the end of May and had been approved the next week while some like myself have waited patiently only to be treated with contempt.

There is obviously a bias within CIC as to how and who they process and in what order. I will request of you to personally get involved in my case and have my application expedited. I would also make the request to find out why this type of corrupt process exists under a Conservative government. I thought you were the guys who were supposed to fix these things?

Another day of nothing??

I am planning on going out to Canada for 2 months, looking at flights that leave on the 29th, if I don't have our sponsor approval by then will I have a hard time at the border?
