Any good news for May applicants this morning?? :D

fingers are crossed another start of the week :)

this is our week!

Nothing yet.. off to work! Hopefully there will be a letter when I get back :D

I was hoping there would be something for May today morning. :(

I pretty much gave up. Fed up with waiting 2,5 months and on top of that have people whine because they got aor in 45 days and the approval is not the next day.

I'll take a couple of days off and check the site again on friday

I'm fed up too. My life is literally on hold and it's frustrating to think that right now, my future is in the hands of a bunch of office pricks who can't even work in order. :(

What's even more troubling is that after these 3 months (a process that just 6 months ago only took 30days) I will wait another 10-12 months for Rome VO all the while unable to work. I have a couple of people willing to give me work and I just sit around looking at walls all day long...

it is frustrating hearing June people literally rubbing it in and discussing PPR's... what's next?

I can't function properly, my life is on hold as well. Waiting outside of Canada is probably even worse because you can't plan anything. I get job-related emails almost every day and have to pass on all of them since I'm not around.

87 days and counting... we're beyond the average processing time. And no one received an AOR today.

whether you're waiting in or out of canada, none of this is better than the other. We're all frustrated and experiencing troubles we have never had before.

I hope we hear something by the end of the day. If not, I might literally lose it.

its too much really...i need my wife please..this emotional stress and frustration is killing me..

people are surprised that I haven't lost it yet... and I'm ready to bite.

:'(

I would have to say that this whole process needs a review.

I wrote about it in another thread but still I will re-touch some of my points.

1) CIC needs to be more responsive and accountable. (There should be a way to enforce some better standards for processing such as my case where my first attempted package was returned for no vaild reason and I have no way to file a complaint about it)

2) Timelines need to come down as waiting 3 months for CPC mississauga then another upto 21 months for VO (singapore in my case) means a possible wait of 2 years. There is NO WAY this should be accepted as normal, esp since I PAY FEES for the 'privalge' of this service.

3) There should be a way for us to bring our spouses over DURING the application process.
My suggestion would be to sign an agreement that if the application is not approved the sponsored will leave without delay by the end date of the visa and appeal or reapply from outside Canada. They shoud also sign a bond agreeing to major sanctions if the terms are violated.

I think that would allow over 80% of the people here to be united with their spouse while waiting.

On top of this I have not been impressed with some of the dealings I've had through out this process. Things like staff and the embassy in Hanoi being on holidays at once with NO ONE able to assist Canadians during a busy travel season smacks of government-worker apathy over service. In fact the most helpful person there was the local Vietnamese employee they hire to do the grunt work and STILL charge $50 per page to 'certify' with a rubber stamp documents etc.

I agree with everyone that this is beyond frustrating, whether you are inside or outside Canada. I chose to stay with my husband outside Canada and apply because I didn't want us to be living in separate countries for an unknown period of time. Yet, I had to put my career life on hold because I can't make any commitment right now since we need to move back to Canada once my husband gets his PR. For those who are in Canada and away from their spouses, I can only imagine the emotional stress they go through. CIC needs to put this into consideration, especially that it doesn't look like they have a systematic way to do this. I am really grateful that I got my AOR and approval, but also surprised that some people applied before me and heard nothing. I pray that all those who had a tough time throughout the first step get a rewarding experience with their second step. Let's keep the hopes up and wish for a better week!

Still no news! It's almost the end of the work day...
