hi everyone,

i have some good news, my wife just received her passport with the visa and the whole applications today Nov 1st 2012. I'm going to start looking for a plane tickets tomorrow hehe :) Total wait time of 6 months since the day we sent it to cic which was on May 1st

i hope everyone in May get it soon too ;D

sponsor approval timeline now down to 35 days.

March and april applicants got their PPR letters approx 30-45 days.

It's been more than 45 days and almost 2 months since sponsor approval for May applicants.

I just don't know what to say :-X

Feel sorry for you besykobuset. I agree with what everyone said about getting a very good immigration lawyer.

thank you so much

really sorry to hear that. YOu will need a good immigration lawyer, as your wife PR might actually be at risk as well.
If you were in a common law relationship, she was not eligible to be sponsored by her father most likely ( see here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse-apply-who.asp).
Good luck, hope a solution can be found.

I seen this too and it made me kinda mad as mines took so long! But I guess we should just be happy that others won't suffer the way we did!

Adding to amfiprion's point. Do you guys think that the VO's stop processing files for awhile and then comeback to Family class after a period of time. Cause London VO seems to give a few COPR's then we hear nothing for 2 or 3 weeks and then suddenly it happens again. Are they concentrating on 1 class for say 1 week and then move on to another class another week and then another class another week and then back to family class. Our VO seems to pump them out and then BAM nothing. :P

I also got upset when I read that it now only takes 35 days... exactly 2 months less than ours, but oh well, nothing we can do about it. What also makes me mad is that the times for processing Temporary Residence Visa keeps on going up every week.. I applied for a visitor visa extension on September 5 and still didn't hear anything.. when I applied it was around 50 days (I believe) and now it's 71 which means at least 3 more weeks. I'm under implied status right now, but it feels weird to not have anything official in my hands stating that I'm allowed to stay (hopefully!). When I changed my status from working to visitor in April, I got a reply in 2 weeks.

Really hoping for positive news for everyone in November!!

I don't know what is going on...

They started processing my application on September 19. (the same week dkera -Rome VO as me- turned in process on 21 Sep, while he got PPR on 20 Sep and visa issued on 26 Sep)
It was a busy week.

On Sep 27 they send me a letter asking for additional details.
I received that letter on Oct 9 and I sent the documents on Oct 11.
From the tracking number I know that my docs were delivered on Oct 17.

Since then nothing.
Am I the last in the queue again?
Do they do more checking?

Don't know....

The worst I am afraid is that my envelop is still closed in a tray waiting and waiting...
I had to reply within 60 days from the date they send me the request.

Anyway October wasn't a good month...

hi amfiprion: I am really upset seeing this change of waiting in Mississauaga. Now I strongly believe that the world is never fair!! We did wait more than 3 months. Now it is close to 1 month! 2 months is gone from our life already in Mississauaga. SAD, So Bad!

I believe that everybody was on summer holidays and there were just a few officers to process our cases during summer months.
Now it seems that they are back and they started to work again! So, May probably is the worst month to apply!

amfiprion: So they were gone (vacation) for 4 months (May - August)! Let me think about it. I think it is the NEW scanning system in the FORMs making them qork quick. They probably got trained working with the new Bar Code system. What do you think. They should similarly start the system in Visa Offices too. Lets see what happens in next few months. Thanks, man.

Basically anybody who applied using the new forms were held in horrendous queue's as they got used to the system. Unfortunately late February, March, April and May got hit for some pretty outrageous processing times. I believe that it got very close to 100 days at one point, then they really messed up the applicants from those month's by splitting the month's between Mississagua and Ottawa. Those that applied in the latter half of the months generally seemed to get quick processing times, whereas those applied early in the month got their applications stuck in Mississagua and had horrendous wait times. It created such a huge mess with no order whatsoever. Since end of May it has got a lot better.

I am glad the wait times for 1st stage is down to 35 days, that to me seems fair and reasonable and I would not want others to see the chaos that was this forum in the first 8 months of this year. Stage 2 being so slow for the same month's doesn't seem very fair either but once again I hope all future applicants are dealt a lot swifter than we have been. We suffered horrendously lets hope those applying after us never have to endure that kind of chaos again.

Have the Visa office's dozed off for the last 2 weeks? I have not heard of anybody getting COPR's. I think only Dkera from May has his, nobody else as far as I remember. I was hoping to see some May applicants starting to receive COPR's before now. Anyway I guess it's back to the waiting game that is CIC! :D

I was thinking the same thing, at least for Manila VO, it seems like the case. Looking at April applicants, some actions were seen on 4 days (PPR) in September, and 2 days(PPR) and 5 days (ECAS) in October, usually first half of the month. I don't see constant actions. It seems as if the family class applications were given 1 week (or less) a month and the officers move onto other sections. At least it seems that they are working on the order the applications were received at Mississauga, not at the VO.
