we called cic an hour ago, my wife said that the agent told her that our sponsor approval is "on process and needs further review" what does it mean? the agent told her too that they don't know how many months more until we know the result? is there a problem with our forms? and by the way, we are married but my wife don't use my last name yet. Do you think that causes the problem? because we know that the law says that a woman has an option in regards to her surname, she can use her maiden name if she wants.. need some help guys.

we also got the similar reply from the call centre agent. The agent told that our application is under Secondary Review, and it may take roughly about 4 to 8 weeks, and advised us to call back after 4 weeks.

I'm wondering what this Secondary Review is, do all the applications go thru this phase?

Congratulation to everyone who got sponsorship approval and my prayers and heart goes to those waiting for a very long time to get there approval.

Could someone explain me why my sponsorship approval was sent to my wife the principle applicant instead of me the sponsor cos i was told first stage approval should come to the sponsor? My file was tranfer to my VO on July 27 2012 and i would like to know when can i request for CAIPS? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Congrats to everybody who got approval today, a busy day, I guess Tuesday is a good one in the office! It's really good to see everyone's applications moving along.

Thanks for everyone's nice words on my last post.. I think there gets a point when you're numb from being apart so long. I remember the first time we were apart, it was 3 months and I thought I was going to die. We promised each other we would never be apart for so long again. Then we lost our jobs overseas and have been apart for almost 3 years. Each day when I wake up it's like waking into a nightmare because he's not beside me.

Oh Steph... This made me tear up. Don't feel this way, please. God gives us trials... and if we make it through with prayer and dedication, it's real. Also, some of the best things in life are the hardest things to obtain, especially if they are ordained by God. If it's come easy, then it's not a gift and you don't appreciate it as much. This way, you show that this means that much to you, and you and your spouse will always look back on this trial and know that your love and God brought you through it, and you will appreciate the love you are allowed to share, and thank God even more for it.

I know others may not believe in God, but these are my beliefs and with Steph saying what she said, I don't think I'm being offensive to her. Hope not!

Also, it makes me giggle a bit to type your name since we have the same name (my first name), I feel like I'm talking about myself. Haha.

But I'm also anxious about getting even just an AOR. I'd be happy just to have that... but nothing. :|

Thanks so much Kiri. Actually, my name is not Steph, it's only a screen name. I think it's a nice name though, and one I get called often, mistakenly, I guess my real name is close enough that I get called Steph often. I'm not religious, but my partner is, so I will say God but really mean it as some kind of higher power up above..or the universe, same thing I guess. Anyways, I hope you get your AOR soon!

If they gave the UCI number, and mentioned that they will forward to Manila office,was that just AOR or already considered APPROVAL too? Just to confirm.

Hi .....my agent told me that he sent me a wrong PPR letter ......Some other Principle applicant's name matches with that of my wife(sponsor) and so he sent that PPR letter to me by mistake.....dat's y i was confused why the PPR letter is adressed to my wife not me.....dat means there's no AOR or Sponsor approval on my file yet , sent on 10th may 2012........can it be true ....??.....can anybody please tell me the telephone number and extension for CIC ....?? .....and whats the right time to call them ......will they talk to me , the principle applicant ......??...or will they only give details to my agent whom i chose as representative ......

For all those who have applied to the Buffalo VO. Since it is now closed, the CIC website has been updated to include the processing times of all the US VO's. LA, Seattle, NY, and Detroit. Processing times are all 10 - 12 months for these VO's.

I wonder what is realistic tho? With a standard, properly filled out application, maybe it'll only take 2-3 months at the VO's in the US?
