Hi Bonita,
Will it be much nicer if you will add destination on our spreadsheet? Like which part of Canada we are heading? Just a suggestion :D :D
It's a nice idea but personally I'd like to retain some privacy if possible! I bet CIC can tell who we all are already just by looking at the spreadsheet.

Its my birthday today but no good news..

Late getting online today. Been a busy day.
My file was transferred to Ottawa for processing. Now missing 2 forms and my wife's passport photos. LOL. Luckily I have all digital copies and that is just an easy reprint. For the photos i will have to wait for her to get them redone. So I am sidelined.
I was still issued a client # and case #. I didn't think they did that for incomplete files.

Does this mean you have approval? Should I update the SS?

Since both 2 parts of my sponsorship application and my wife's passport photos have now miraculously disappeared my application is incomplete yet I have a file # and a client # so I'm really not sure what that means other then the processing to get approval is now delayed until I resend the requested documents.
I do not think that CIC is monitoring the forum to intentionally screw anyone over. Thats just too paranoid. I think mistakes happen at their end and they get glossed over. Losing the first part of my application would certainly speak to why it remained off the system for so long only to have to be accounted for once inqueries were made on my behalf.
I think I also mentioned before that files get transferred to other facilities for processing. This could alos account for why applications get processed out of sequence. A may application rerouted to another facility would then become a June application to whoever processes it. If your application gets processed at the same facility you you originally sent it to then you would still stay on target to be processed according to the receipt date.
Does any of this make sense?

They lost them? Blech. I could understand how passport photos could go missing, but forms? What a pain.

That sucks that they lost them... however, it would seem you have approval but they have 'requested documents'. A lot of people go through that. Unfortunately, that does potentially delay it another 2-3 months. Anytime they have to request more documents, fees, etc.. it can delay things that long. That sucks even more.

I would understand if the requested docs would cause a 2-3 month delay in Manila, but from what I heard from other people's stories, a request of those docs from Canada can be much faster.

Ah, I'm only going from the experiences of the Americans, I don't really follow the other countries individual threads.

Well, at least they know you exist. We're on the right path for now! :)

@ phulvir

can u tell me what is your approval date?

Yes and that was my major concern. That all was lost. I'm not happy that some was lost but to replace 2 documents is not a big deal compared to having to replace the whole thing. I have always been willing to wait as is everybody but not more than what I have to.
It would be interesting to know if other delayed May applicants also had their files transferred to centres they did not originally mail them. I'm pretty convinced that this is where the delays and missequencing happen.
