I think this whole immigration process is a test of character and a test of your relationship (god knows filling in those forms together was stressful!! haha)

Can you imagine if you were not being genuine with your relationship the stress you would be under? I am terrified of ours being rejected for whatever reason, even though I know our relationship is 100% and we shouldn't be!

Think I will need a long holiday once this is all over ;D

Don't worry about it - you will be fine! there is no reason to reject your application is you are in a genuine relationship. If they have doubts - they will call you for an interview or ask to submit more proofs, but not reject you.

It's stressful because we have no control over the timeline, and no information ( or very little) about what is going on. But you will get the PR - the question here is not IF you will get it, but WHEN you will get it - keep that in mind, it helps keeping the stress to a low level.

that being said - holidays are always well deserved! :-)

thanks :)

I'm just worried because its common-law and I don't know how often they accept them! especially since we are only 22!

you're going through the UK office - so common law is NOT a problem. If you were from a culture were common law was frowned upon, or not allowed, or not customary, then it might be a problem. But I assume that you have a Scottish flag on your profile for a reason! :) so you should be fine. And age - well, as long as you can prove that you have lived together for at least 12 months, and you have proofs of your relationship, etc, then there is no reason to worry. Remember - there are very few european applicants that get denied, as living standards between Europe and Canada are pretty similar, so you have no economical reason to emigrate ( not that it would be wrong to emigrate for economical reasons, of course, but that's not the point of the spousal sponsorship).

So - you'll be just fine! :)

I didn't wait for my Option C, I just printed out the last 12 months of pay statements and put a note saying why I did this instead of my option C. I was approved as a sponsor
Mine was exactly how long the agent said it would take. If I recall he said 7 to 10 business days and it took exactly 10 business days. Thank goodness I requested it well in advance of the 'applicant' side being completely ready . . . (alluding to that stress level mentioned in previous posts). The applicant would have been "hopping mad"! :) :) :)

Mine was the same and when i called they said its Sponsor approval try calling :)

congrats

That's good to hear! Yeah we have been together 4 years, lived in Canada together for almost a year ( I was on a study visa) then lived together and shared bills in Scotland for another year. So hoping its all enough :)

Just the waiting game to get through!!

who's ecas worked???

Wow, finally got through. So we have two uci's.... one for him and one for me. Didn't know that. Anyway, ecas now works. Phew.

For me, it was the "sponsor's" that worked, and it was 3 days after my AOR was received.

I am the sponsor as well.. and i have my client id already but yesterday they sent my sponsor approval in the mail .. no aor... but no ecas still...

i hope it works sooon!

It seems CIC can't keep their stories straight.
They would receive applications through different couriers on a daily basis. With Canada Post they would receive maybe 1000/day. So if they are processing them by shipment then there is no way for June applicants to get AOR's before May or May before April etc. which is obviously not the case. It would seem more like they are skimming off the top of each shipment as it comes in and if your application happens to be the one at the bottom of the monotainer it was shipped in then you are going to wait a real long time.

Glad to hear it works! do you see anything different with the applicant's UCI? I only have the one from the sponsorship approval, and I have been using that to check my file ( I'm the applicant), but there is no news, so I'm curious what I could see with my own UCI - how did you get it? over the phone from CIC?

Yes, I got it on the phone. I couldn't see anything with my own UCI at all. Didn't see much with his except it says in process.

Sponsor's... pointless anyway, doesn't really give any info.

well mine says application received and medical received, but nothing else, and it has been transferred about 1 month ago... a bit of movement would be nice, but well, I'm not keeping my hopes up for another month or two! :-)

Hopefully a day or two, probably on monday or tuesday - but the agent could not tell you on the phone what was the decision ? that's strange, normally they can tell what's in the letter!
Good luck with waiting - don't scare the postman! :)

CIC agents are so messed up, one told me a letter was sent to me on the 8th of Aug ,so I called back to confirm what was on the letter, only for another agent to tell me my file is not in process yet. My file is not in process but how come my Ecas works?

Wow, that's a lot of info... did you use the applicant uci or the sponsor uci?
