Application received on 21-mar-2023 and citizenship test updated on 26-june-2023.Gave my fingerprint in may. Background verification is still in progress.

Is this timeline normal for background verification.

Paper application from mississauga for family
My BG verification and LPP are pending. I wasn't asked for fingerprints though.
Last update was June 19 for the test.
Looks like I'm seeing more people have BG completed but just waiting for LPP.
Online application from Montreal.

Same situation
AOR March 2023
BG and Test completed in May 2023

No fingerprints, No additional documents, No update since.

It looks like I been left in the black hole waiting my draw for LPP.

Hi Folks, my tracker was updated today with the Oath date (Feb 9th). How do I know if I'm scheduled virtual or in-person for the ceremony? Is that detail part of the invitation email received a week before? Thanks.

I have completed my oath ceremony yesterday (January 30), and it went smoothly by God's grace. My citizenship updates on this forum/thread has finally come to an end.

This forum including the March 2023 thread(and the people who post in it) have been of great help both during my PR and citizenship journey, and for that - I'm grateful.

To the few still awaiting updates, it'll be coming soon - that I'm sure!!

Identical timeline. Got a GU Oct 27th, 2023 but that's an useless GU. Primary office is RC-8090, secondary office is Scarborough, the slowest combo :(.

Hi everyone,

My wife and I finally got our new oath date and this time it is in-person on Feb 15 in Vancouver. We applied back in March 12, 2023 and received AOR on March 28. 2023. Sharing my timeline of progress below starting from the initiative of us writing a letter to our local MP requesting follow up for our file just in case anyone needs reference.

  • 21-Nov-23: Vancouver MP office provided real-time update on files.
  • 08-Jan-24: Emailed Vancouver MP again requesting follow up of files and request for in-person oath
  • 11-Jan-24: LPP completed
  • 12-Jan-24: Office of Vancouver MP responded and requested us to write formal letter to IRCC for in-person oath request
  • 12-Jan-24: Replied to Vancouver MP office with formal letter to IRCC
  • 13-Jan-24: Activity status update - LPP updated on tracker
  • 15-Jan-24: Vancouver MP office informed us that formal letter to IRCC was shared with IRCC.
  • 17-Jan-24: Activity status update on tracker for Oath
  • 18-Jan-24: Received e-cert instruction letter
  • 22-Jan-24: Received oath invite letter for Jan 29 (virtual oath)
  • 22-Jan-24: Responded to Vancouver Office for rescheduling to in-person oath ceremony
  • 24-Jan-24: Ghost update on tracker
  • 31-Jan-24: Ghost update on tracker
  • 02-Feb-24: Activity status update on tracker for Oath
  • 02-Feb-24: Received oath invite letter for Feb 15
  • 15-Feb-24: In-person Oath Ceremony at Vancouver CIC
Thank you & Good luck to everyone on their respective files.

January 11, 2024: LPP completed.
Citizenship Test was completed on June 11, 2023
Ghost Update was on October 27, 2023

When can I expect update on the ceremony? How long does it usually take once LPP is completed?
I am in the same situation. July 28 was test completed but nothing after that.

Email will have the details about the type of interview. Not being in Canada is normally trigger for interview not GCMS notes.

I became a Canadian citizen on the 29th January along with 100+ others.

It was done via zoom and apparently Mississauga was the first office to offer zoom during the pandemic. Not sure why that explains the delay… :)

I was offered the e-certificate option and later on that week (Thursday/Friday) it arrived. I then went to the passport office to summit my application as I am travelling soon. Took about 3 hours in total but will pick up my passport later on this week.

Do not give up. To be honest I stopped checking a while ago as your time will come. Do not worry!
