I am bit confused here now. I am CEC inland with dependent inland. Background check status got updated to "Your application in progress". Based on other threads, BG status changes to "in progress" only if we are FSW -O. For CEC inland, it will be the same from AOR "we are processing".
Now, I am bit worried if BG will not be started thinking I am fsw-o.

@legalfalcon , need your inputs here please.

All applications go though the BGC, and the status will change 2-3 times.

BGC = Criminality + Security.

Thank you @legalfalcon . Actually, this thread confuses me.

https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-i...mep-ip1-ip2-ghost-update-version-2019.612656/

Especially this line:

Ghost Update #1 or Real IP1 - "In progress" 1: Background Check changes to "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check." Usually follows MEP. Some applicants (especially Inland and CEC) skip this stage. You should receive an email for your Real IP1 - the email will not provide any details, just that your application has been updated.

does it matters still ?

Thank you @caipsnotes . Mine, eligibility is passed. And background check status updated from "we are processing your background check" to "Your application in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check".

That's kinda of confusing since am inland applicant. Haven't seen BG status changing for any inland.

Exact same thing happened to me today, I am an inland single CEC with no dependent, feeling confused

The IP, IP2 were based on speculation and no longer hold true.

All applications go through the following stages:

R10
Medicals
Criminality
Eligibility
Security

o read on stages of an application see https://bit.ly/2Scn6oy

I have 2 applications in process (EE and paper based). I am going on mat leave in 2 weeks. Do I need to inform IRCC I am on mat leave or they will only need to know when I give birth to a child, that's it? Please share your experience. Thanks!
