I know it's very frustrating and depressing but the immigration system honestly sucks. Until then we just have to put up with their crap. It's a long wait but it's not for nothing. I would rather wait to be with the person I love than to just give up. Giving up wont get you what you want but waiting, as hard as it is, is worth it. Calling CIC is a waste of time. They don't know anything and rarely ever give you any information we don't already know. The best thing to do, which helped us a lot, is to order your notes from the visa office processing your application. Sometimes we felt like they forgot about our application and it's just been sitting on their desk for months. As soon as we would order our notes they would finally be like oh shit and would start working on it again. I really do feel sometimes they forget to work on application and it just sits at the bottom of a pile. Order your notes and most likely you'll see faster progress. We applied in November 2016 and my husband finally got his PPR in November 2017 and his COPR in December 2017.
how long did it take for them to reply to you? and is it okay to order them before the processing times are over? i'm approaching 12 months in 3 weeks and i'm not sure if i should apply for them or wait till i hit 12 months..

Mississauga Visa Office, March 22, 2017 Applicant

I called CIC today. The lady told me that in December, 2017, was when the 12 months came into effect for applications. That my March application still fell under the 26 month obligation......ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!???? I WILL NOT and CANNOT wait another 14 months. There goes my marriage and life. I will be moving back home...I THOUGHT Canada would be my home, and prepared for that life. I was WRONG!! I see everyone else getting their PR and I'm supposed to be ok with another 14 months processing!!!??? I'm from the U.S, nothing on record, passed medicals (had to have 2 as they have expired AGAIN....so does this mean I start over and have to have another one because new one will expire too!!?? All of this is crap. I don't think I can take anymore. Good luck everyone else!
That's not correct.. 12 months is for those who applied after Dec. 2016.. it says so on their website, no way is that true. She's just saying that just in case it takes longer than 12 months.

this is from the website:
We aim to process most applications (80 percent) submitted on or after December 7, 2016, within 12 months of the date of receipt.

what is the utility of ordering the notes ?
Youre able to see activity on you application. See officers notes. Potential for interview etc

Are you talking about the notes? I ordered it probably 4 times within a year. It shows you exactly where they are in your application process. When I ordered it right away I got a confirmation email saying they received my request and within a couple of weeks to a month I got my notes. I requested to get them through email so it was faster. I think once it took 2 weeks to receive the notes. Some people say it delays your application but I don't think it does, at least it didn't for us. There were times when we didn't hear anything for a few months and soon as I received my notes I finally saw progress.

I can only speak for myself but every time I ordered the notes I would finally see progress on the application. When I wouldn't order the notes I felt like they aren't even looking at my application. So in my case, yes, I did see progress.

I think the immigration probably forget our March applicants. They won’t care how much pressure, frustrating, depression we have been through!! I can’t stop crying everyday even though I’m pregnant right now. I can’t take it anymore seriously.
