Hi, I just want to be sure before my wife will mail the passport. I am not sure what is our file number. On appendix A there is a field for file number and it is indicated on the email that the file number is mentioned above. All I see above the email is a series of number included on the subject which is the same with her application number. So is the file number her application number?

yes, the file number is the application number. the file number will most likely have a letter in front of it and look like this: F000000000. It would be referenced in the sponsor approval letter and any communication the applicant received. The application number is the same for both sponsor and applicant.

Hi everyone,

Please update my info on the spreadsheet....the ECAS shows that my application is in process since July 18th.

However, the requested some T4/Notice of assessment and employment letter for me. I will submit it next week...I hope that this will not slow down the process.

Thanks
Done. Shouldn't be too long for you now.

I have a couple of questions, if someone could please help.

The COPR, does the confirmation come by way of email or mail ?
What does the COPR look like, what does it say...we have been getting emails from Ottawa asking for further information, which of course we forwarded, these requests are coming in after they already requested my husbands passport, there is nothing in any of them that appears to completely confirm he is OK to head to Canada. Just confused ???

Thanks in advance for any insights.

Hey all. Last week I got my gcms notes in my inbox and it looks like for right now they want to request an interview. Crappy. Unfortunately the agent didn't specifically voice any particular concerns within the notes. I know that sending in an update package can potentiall change their minds. Does anyone know, or has anyone ever heard of sending an update package via email? Everything I would send physically actually has to be printed off of the computer... Skype data, photos, bank stmts, etc etc so of course (especially since I have a newborn right now) it would be way easier to just send everything electronically.

Before someone suggests that I ask in my VO thread, I already did and no one responded to my post. The Mexico thread is pretty inactive except for a few users.

Thanks all!

Well if you are on the interview queue, is it much of a difference in terms of waiting? If it is, I would definitely send evidence. I thought you were going to... The trip with your brother visisting him? Baby stuff?

Anyways, something that you might want to consider, but may be offending in nature, is to do a DNA paternity test and also further explain how it was not possible for father to be present at birth. Without detailed notes though, it is impossible to estimate why the officer feels an interview is needed. Sorry you received not so great notes. Many are on the interview queue from my visa office as well and the wait time is ridiculous.

Also, provide a detailed plan on what job he will have and your plans as family living in Canada. Sometimes the interview is NOT about doubting the genuine relationship part (although, this is not the standard).

Really sorry about the interview with no explanation, I think you should order a new set and they might actually provide a reason.

Yes Koifish you're right, Singapore wait times are brutal, its a 2 year wait for an interview, really hope we don't get one.

Hey all!

agarad8, that sucks about the interview! Seems a bit crazy when you guys have just had a baby together! Are you planning on going down to Costa Rica with the baby any time soon?

I have some good news! I mentioned awhile back that despite the government PUBLICLY announcing that they are expediting Syrian Family Class applications, my MP told me they are not. Well, I finally got her to check into the file. The CIC confirmed with her they are NOT expediting Syrian Family Class applications. My MP suggested we write a letter requesting the the expedition of our file, and she has forwarded it to the visa office.

Furthermore, we got some media attention! Any of you who are in Calgary can hear an interview with me on CBC Calgary at 8:10am!

i know in the passport request i got, the email specifically says that any emails sent to the vo need to be under 5 MB. If you can do this, my suggestion would be to get everything into one document and save it as a PDF so it won't be too big. What i normally do is paste everything into google presentation (or powerpoint), resize the images/documents, and convert it from there. It's a lot easier than using word, in my opinion. There's a way to send a case specific inquiry, i am not sure where to go to find that info. I do know it's important to make sure the email has the applicant name, sponsor name, file number and applicant UCI number. Also, the email i received from my vo had my file name as the subject, so that may be the preferred way to send an inquiry?

Well, I got the COPR in the mail last week...it was four pages in a light brown envelope...it read "Dear Sir or Madam, We have now issued and enclosed you Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CPR) for you.....DO NOT SIGN YOUR CPR UNTIL TOLD TO DO SO BY THE IMMIGRATION OFFICER..." ( it was kind of un-personalized) and the end it reads "we wish you a pleasant journey and every success in your future in Canada..CIC." :) The next page is additional information (very general information). And the last two pages are the actual CPR and a copy. Both have information ( the color of your eyes, your hieght..etc.) and the actual CPR has a picture (one of the photos I sent in) at the bottom corner of the page... :) I don't know if its like that for every one...hopefully that helps...
