Hey all. Last week I got my gcms notes in my inbox and it looks like for right now they want to request an interview. Crappy. Unfortunately the agent didn't specifically voice any particular concerns within the notes. I know that sending in an update package can potentiall change their minds. Does anyone know, or has anyone ever heard of sending an update package via email? Everything I would send physically actually has to be printed off of the computer... Skype data, photos, bank stmts, etc etc so of course (especially since I have a newborn right now) it would be way easier to just send everything electronically.

Before someone suggests that I ask in my VO thread, I already did and no one responded to my post. The Mexico thread is pretty inactive except for a few users.

Thanks all!
Hi -
Similarly, we got our notes this week and, it looks like an interview is "recommended" as well as "required" as per stated in the Notes, but after talking with the CIC Call Center agent yesterday, he indicted that this language (and the time gaps) in the Notes, does not necessarily mean that a final determination on the interview has actually been made - that it gets passed around from one level VO to the next, until a consensus has been reached.. So, there is still a chance that the interview will be waived - a chance that it will, too. Good luck. We're preparing for the latter, and the seemingly perpetual state of reflection that it elicits! :p

Well if you are on the interview queue, is it much of a difference in terms of waiting? If it is, I would definitely send evidence. I thought you were going to... The trip with your brother visisting him? Baby stuff?

Anyways, something that you might want to consider, but may be offending in nature, is to do a DNA paternity test and also further explain how it was not possible for father to be present at birth. Without detailed notes though, it is impossible to estimate why the officer feels an interview is needed. Sorry you received not so great notes. Many are on the interview queue from my visa office as well and the wait time is ridiculous.
Yeah I was planning on it but I was so exhausted in the last month of my pregnancy that it just didn't happen. I did start to gather some documents but the skype was so frustrating. I dunno if anyone else experienced this but I video chat with him on my iPad, so I went back and took screenshots that show 'call started' 'call ended' so they can see how often we talk, then I email those to myself and for the main application I printed them off. Well unfortunately when I print them the type is soooo light that you can barely read the date/time, I had to manually edit each picture to make the contrast darker just so that you can read it when printed out. On the other hand when you view the files on the computer it's no problem at all to read it.

I have no idea what the difference is in terms if wait times. My VO is moving pretty quickly in general.

I already explained in my birth announcement that he wasn't able to be there but that we were skyping with him live for the majority of the labour.

The issue anyways, is not what to send them, it's whether or not they will accept it in an email.

Really sorry about the interview with no explanation, I think you should order a new set and they might actually provide a reason.
I'm planning on ordering more the week after the hubby's follow-up doctor appointment. Hoping to see 'medical passed' at the least, and whether or not the birth announcement changed anything.

Hey all!

agarad8, that sucks about the interview! Seems a bit crazy when you guys have just had a baby together! Are you planning on going down to Costa Rica with the baby any time soon?
I don't this it's 100% that we have an interview but it looks like whoever had the file at first is recommending one. That was before the baby was born though that they put that, I mean in my papers I told them I was pregnant but I dunno I guess they don't care unless there is an actual baby. Lol

I'm waiting on vital statistics to register the birth and then send me a birth certificate, then I can apply for her passport and then we will be going. Hopefully sometime in September.

Thank you for this information, I was not aware that there would be a collaborative decision made on our files, I was under the impression that it was just one officer in charge of it with the exception of the health division. This is good to know.

Based on the 10 applicants who received letter for interview queue (singapore visa office only), the norm is to receive letter approx 5 months after 1st stage approval (SA). Just wanted to warn you, once you receive letter, they will not accept any more documentation or communication (other than address change and such).

I'm not trying to pressure you. Just wanted to let you know, don't wait too long. :p

Btw, I ordered my 1st GCMS notes on Tuesday. Looking forward to see what exactly caused such a delay.

Also, if someone can answer, does the GCMS notes clarify whether a new police clearance was received? I sent two, one with application and one with the additional form I sent.

Yeah it will show them requesting documents and receiving documents.

Depending on how things go with the baby I should be able to send them by email in the next couple of weeks. We aren't anywhere near the 5 month mark yet. Anyways I figure they're waiting for the medical results before they do much of anything. Gcms notes showed that they hadn't even started any of the criminality or security checks and that's the only reason that I can think of.

that's the wrong set of notes. i did the same thing, i ordered notes through access to information, didn't pay, and was told it was suppose to be the "freedom of info" act that needed to be chosen. apparently the other notes will not have full details.

no, it's not something a us citisen "has to do". flag poling is how someonealready in canada can "land" as a PR in canada when they get approved. Anyone can do it, not just US citizens. it prevents them from having to go back to their home country to reenter canada. they can simply drive to the us, get turned around, and enter canada to land.
Hi buddy. You already know my wife's situation. So is this something she can do instead of flying back home? Please let me know how my wife can go about doing this in whisper. Thanks.

Furthermore, we got some media attention! Any of you who are in Calgary can hear an interview with me on CBC Calgary at 8:10am!
This is great news. But continue trying to get your story in Ottawa news because that is where the government of Canada is. But more importantly, get out of that warzone. I do not understand why you are choosing to be in an unstable country where its leader has already used chemical attack in part of the country. I understand your husband has to be there until the sponsorship application is processed, but you staying there and endangering your life doesn't do any good.

Nice! 145 days. Just to make you feel even better, there are persons just getting their COPR with over 800 days waiting. The difference is incredible when you put it into perspective.

I didn't get a passport request. I sent my passport book with my application. However, I got an email from Ottawa saying they didn't need my passport, and gave me the option to have it sent expedited or just regular mail. A week later I got my COPR and my GCMS notes the day I was approved.

Ah! I feel so lucky to get getting my COPR. I was seriously was expecting to wait 14 months. I really thought my case had some reg flags, and after the fact there was more information I thought I should have included. Hopefully your process goes by quickly too! I guess it's normal for us all to be stressed during this. Lol.
