Hello there. I know Iay waited to send in the marriage certificate but I wanted to say that I did the opposite. I sent in a copy of the form we signed and attached a note stating I would send the original once I received it. I actually still have the original and I'm waiting to send it in because I also have to still do a Medical exam for my unaccompanying minor child who lives with her father 4 states away. She is coming up over Easter and I have an appt. the first week in April for her medicals to be complete. I used an attorney to complete all the papers and he told me I could take the risk and send it in with an explanation of why those papers weren't present and hope it doesn't delay or I could wait until April to submit the packet. I opted to mail it in and roll the dice. So far it is going okay. They processed our Sponsorship approval last Friday and my packet is just now being sent to the visa office. Our meds will be done and the marriage cert. and the results will be mailed within 2 weeks. Hopefully they will be just starting to process the packet at that time. Bottom line, we may get delayed because those papers are there but it shouldn't be a long delay but had we waited until the first week in April to apply we would be 2 1/2 months behind.

I'm not trying to influence your decision but just wanted to give you an alternative. It IS possible to send it in without the marriage certificate but make sure you explain why and be prepared to have a bit of a delay possibly.

That's true buffy, I wasted 4 months waiting for the Marriage Certificate. Looking back, I hope I submitted it ahead so at least my SA would have been done earlier.
But anyway, the SA part only looks at the sponsor's part anyway, so I guess sending additinal docs for the PR process later on is not a bad idea.

We finally made it!!!!!!!!!!! The hardest part was getting my FBI report because my prints are so fine, almost impossible to print me! But we finally got our FBI report back and submitted the application. It was exhausting. Hubby said: what are you so exhausted about (he did most of the work on it)...I replied "I'm exhausted from watching you!" :-*

Thanks Messenger i guess we will be waiting together and wishing for the best. I was born in Canada but Serbian and my wife is from Serbia. I heard from friends in ontario that someone arrived in 3 months and another case that someone came in 4. I dont know if these people have connections. I would be happy if we get approved in july. We planned on sending our application in the begining of january but had some setbacks with her documents.

I love Serbia. I was in Belgrade last year on a major installation and never felt i was away from home. Dont worry you will be with your wife in not time at all! I went through this back in the 80's when i was immigrating to Canada. If you know my story then you would feel much better.
My spouse (Common-Law) is from Macedonia. She cannot be in Greece except on short visits because we cannot get married yet. (Trying to get a divorce for 5 years now, but finally is coming through by the end of the year) I cant be in her country because I have my job here in Thessaloniki. Luckily her family's house is by the border so we cover 80 km about 4-5 times weekly for the last 5 years. On top of that we are expecting a baby (she is now 3 months into) and I too am hoping to get through quickly so maybe we can have our baby in Canada. (We decided even on her last month of pregnancy we would try to leave)

So lets keep our coolness and try to pass this difficult period with our sanity intact!

You are also Vienna so am I (I am in February though and just today i received my SA, ain't life sweet?)

BTW We just got a contract for a new installation near the Austrian border in Hungary. As soon as I found out where I will ask you because i must be there to do it! Had many Hungarian friends in Canada. Are you in the country now?

I have been in Canada for almost two years now, going home every 6 months as per visa restrictions. We got married last November (my hubby is Canadian citizen) and decided to go for the PR. I had been trying to find a job and get work permit earlier but it was impossible to find any company that would have supported me as a foreign worker It has been very frustrating and honestly, I considered going home for good. Thankfully, our relationship survived so I hope this thing will get sorted out asap and I can start/restart my career here!

one question: my police certificate is only valid for 90 days. what if the application arrives in Vienna after 90 days? are they gonna look into my files in Mississauga or only into my hubby's?

Welcome KKMoe, this is the first time i heard the police certificate is only good for 90 days. That doesnt seem right. That means you would have to get it right before you send your application. Can anyone confirm this?

CIC guidelines says that PC should not be more than 3 months on the date the application was received in Mississauga.

Mine was 3.5 months old when we submitted it, I just learned about the 3-month rule after we sent the file.
Anyway, I met another person here who submitted 4 month old PC but did not really made a big impact in their case. If ever, the VO will just ask you for another one, or you can send a new one to your VO once your file gets transferred and you get your File Number to match additional docs to your app.

I don't know with other VOs, but in Manila, they ask for any other docs missing/required during the PPR just before they process the application.

Once it reached in Mississauga, I believe it will be fine They will definitely let you know if you need to re-submit it.

Dont worry, your apps will arrive in Vienna very soon. With the rate the SA's are going this time you will finish in no time at all and your files will arrive on time!
If the Police certificates expire even though they have them in Vienna the least it can happen is to ask you to renew them. Sorry I do not know how difficult it is to get them in Canada as I have been away for many years.
