I came to Canada on the student visa. Completed my Masters in Computer Science in 2023 May and Got my PGWP in October 2023, unfortunately I was not able to find any job Teer 0, 1, 2, 3 when I got my PGWP. Moving forward 2 years, I now got a job in my field (NOC 21222) which started on 11th November 2025. My current situation is my PGWP is expiring on 18th October 2026. What are my current options.

I am living and working in Ontario. Have 5 years of experience from back home country in the same field. Living with wife and two kids(both Canadian Citizens).
My Ielts is: 8 7 7 6.5 (which I am trying to improve).

I am also looking for the pnp options.

Options are:
1. Express Entry - Foreign Workers stream if you are fluent in French and English.

2. OINP is really only option with job offer through OINP portal and having your NOC and region selected. Other PNPs not an option.

3. To work past October 18, you need an approved LMIA from employer to apply for a closed work permit

What does your wife do for work? Her language scores?

Hey everyone,

I’d really appreciate some advice and guidance on my situation.

I have several years of experience in social services, both before and after coming to Canada. Before I moved here in January 2023, I worked for about 6 years as a community outreach/program coordinator.

After arriving in Canada, it took me a few months to get my first job (April 2023). Since then, I’ve had a mix of roles some short-term and some longer-term mostly within the same field:

  • My first job was in personal care, but I left after about 3 weeks because it wasn’t the right fit. (Community Support Sercive) April 2023
  • I then worked another similar role for about 2 months.April -June 2023
  • After that, I got a housing support worker role at a shelter, where I worked for about 8 months I worked as a Casual for 2month. So I landed a full time position (April until December 2023).
  • Around July 2023, I also started working as a child and youth worker (casual/part-time), which I’ve continued with over time and still have the job up til date.
  • In November 2023, I got a full-time outreach worker position and stayed there until September 2025.
  • Due to changes in student work hour limits in 2024, I reduced my hours temporarily but continued working in my outreach position for 24hours until December that I completed my study and applied for PGWP.
  • After finishing my studies in December, I resumed full-time work.
Since then, I’ve had a few transitions:

  • I briefly worked as a housing and shelter manager, but my contract ended after 2 months due to workplace issues.
  • I then completed a 4-month temporary housing role.
  • Throughout all this, I’ve consistently maintained my child and youth worker role (casual), which has been my most stable position and keep working average of 30-40 hours weekly.
  • I’ve also recently secured another child and youth worker role, which I’ll be starting soon.
Now I’m in the process of creating my Express Entry profile and applying for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), and I’m honestly a bit confused about how to clearly present and “narrow down” my work experience.

My concerns are:

  • I’ve had multiple roles, some overlapping and some short-term
  • I don’t want to raise any red flags with IRCC
  • I want to present everything accurately but also clearly and strategically
Has anyone been in a similar situation with multiple jobs and transitions?
How did you structure your work history for Express Entry/PNP?
And how do I decide which roles to include or prioritize?

Any advice would really mean a lot. Thanks in advance

Based on your timeline, you may still be able to qualify under Express Entry if you complete at least one year of skilled Canadian work before your PGWP expires. Your NOC looks eligible, so CRS score will be important. You can also explore Ontario PNP streams, especially ones linked to your occupation. It may be useful to focus on improving IELTS and keeping all job documents ready, as both can make a big difference in selection.

Thank you for your response.

Here is a clear summary of my employment history in Canada under my Post-Graduation Work Permit, which began on December 22, 2024.

At the start of my PGWP, I held multiple roles concurrently to maintain full-time employment. These included a full-time outreach worker position, a Child and Youth Worker role where I worked close to full-time hours, and a casual position which I attended occasionally as a child and youth worker.

In September 2025, I obtained a managerial position in a housing and shelter setting. To focus on this opportunity, I transitioned out of two of my previous full time roles, including my outreach worker and Child and Youth Worker position. During this period, I maintained approximately 30 hours per week in my casual Child and Youth Worker role alongside my full-time managerial position.

At the end of October 2025, I was laid off from the managerial role. Following this, I continued working in my Child and Youth Worker position which i have up till date though it a casual position but I have seniority to pickup shift.

In November 2025, I secured a new temporary role as a Housing Support Worker in the , where I worked for approximately four months until February 2026.

Currently, I am working in a casual capacity as a Child and Youth Worker, consistently maintaining between 30–40 hours per week. I have also recently secured a new position under NOC 42202 (Child and Youth Workers), which I intend to use for my PNP application.

However, I have over six years of relevant international experience in related fields. My employment history reflects continuous and lawful work, with transitions primarily due to career advancement or organizational changes.

I would appreciate your guidance on how I can go about this ensuring my Canada work experience and application are structured clearly and accurately to align with PNP and EE, and CEC requirements.

Holy shit, can you write these things on your own (in a way that people can scan quickly and respond) as opposed to pasting these extremely long ChatGPT slops?

Here is a clearer reply! Not.
