Hey everyone,

I’d really appreciate some advice and guidance on my situation.

I have several years of experience in social services, both before and after coming to Canada. Before I moved here in January 2023, I worked for about 6 years as a community outreach/program coordinator.

After arriving in Canada, it took me a few months to get my first job (April 2023). Since then, I’ve had a mix of roles some short-term and some longer-term mostly within the same field:

  • My first job was in personal care, but I left after about 3 weeks because it wasn’t the right fit. (Community Support Sercive) April 2023
  • I then worked another similar role for about 2 months.April -June 2023
  • After that, I got a housing support worker role at a shelter, where I worked for about 8 months I worked as a Casual for 2month. So I landed a full time position (April until December 2023).
  • Around July 2023, I also started working as a child and youth worker (casual/part-time), which I’ve continued with over time and still have the job up til date.
  • In November 2023, I got a full-time outreach worker position and stayed there until September 2025.
  • Due to changes in student work hour limits in 2024, I reduced my hours temporarily but continued working in my outreach position for 24hours until December that I completed my study and applied for PGWP.
  • After finishing my studies in December, I resumed full-time work.
Since then, I’ve had a few transitions:

  • I briefly worked as a housing and shelter manager, but my contract ended after 2 months due to workplace issues.
  • I then completed a 4-month temporary housing role.
  • Throughout all this, I’ve consistently maintained my child and youth worker role (casual), which has been my most stable position and keep working average of 30-40 hours weekly.
  • I’ve also recently secured another child and youth worker role, which I’ll be starting soon.
Now I’m in the process of creating my Express Entry profile and applying for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), and I’m honestly a bit confused about how to clearly present and “narrow down” my work experience.

My concerns are:

  • I’ve had multiple roles, some overlapping and some short-term
  • I don’t want to raise any red flags with IRCC
  • I want to present everything accurately but also clearly and strategically
Has anyone been in a similar situation with multiple jobs and transitions?
How did you structure your work history for Express Entry/PNP?
And how do I decide which roles to include or prioritize?

Any advice would really mean a lot. Thanks in advance

So when did you start your PGWP. Canadian Experience starts from that point. Experience during studies can go under personal history. What PNP?

Thank you for your response.

Here is a clear summary of my employment history in Canada under my Post-Graduation Work Permit, which began on December 22, 2024.

At the start of my PGWP, I held multiple roles concurrently to maintain full-time employment. These included a full-time outreach worker position, a Child and Youth Worker role where I worked close to full-time hours, and a casual position which I attended occasionally as a child and youth worker.

In September 2025, I obtained a managerial position in a housing and shelter setting. To focus on this opportunity, I transitioned out of two of my previous full time roles, including my outreach worker and Child and Youth Worker position. During this period, I maintained approximately 30 hours per week in my casual Child and Youth Worker role alongside my full-time managerial position.

At the end of October 2025, I was laid off from the managerial role. Following this, I continued working in my Child and Youth Worker position which i have up till date though it a casual position but I have seniority to pickup shift.

In November 2025, I secured a new temporary role as a Housing Support Worker in the , where I worked for approximately four months until February 2026.

Currently, I am working in a casual capacity as a Child and Youth Worker, consistently maintaining between 30–40 hours per week. I have also recently secured a new position under NOC 42202 (Child and Youth Workers), which I intend to use for my PNP application.

However, I have over six years of relevant international experience in related fields. My employment history reflects continuous and lawful work, with transitions primarily due to career advancement or organizational changes.

I would appreciate your guidance on how I can go about this ensuring my Canada work experience and application are structured clearly and accurately to align with PNP and EE, and CEC requirements.

This is not really clear. Just list your employment dates, FT or PT and NOC. Add up the months. You want one calendar year for CEC.

Thank you so much for your response
