Hi.. You made it right.. You can apply for WP renewal even without the actual LMO yet, provided you have the file number or proof of LMO application from employer. You can actually do this if your existing WP is expiring in a month.. But make sure to phone the CPC Vegreville once your employer furnished you with the positive LMO from Service Canada, and advise them of the LMO Confirmation. You must receive the positive LMO within the processing time for WP renewal, and based on your timelines, I'm positive you will get it with no worries at all..

Good luck... ;D

Hopefully. And hopefully it'll be positive! :)

OOooh.. This means they're processing my application!

By the way, my position in the company is Marketing Communications Specialist, but the LMO advertisement was done for the role of Marketing Manager. My boss explained in the cover letter that this was done to attract a larger pull of applicants. The duties remained the same. Do you think that this might affect my application?

I heard that titles don't matter, that Service Canada just looks at the duties and sees if they match with the NOC code.

What do you think?

Hi seniors,
AEO processing time and LMO processing time are same or difference?

Different AEOs take about 7 months.

Hi DID you get your LMO??

Hi Guys... going through some of your posts and seems general processing time right now is around 9-10 weeks. My employer had filed LMO application on Sep 19th, not sure if anyone of you would know how many more weeks I would need to wait considering its already 9 weeks.

Also, if anyone knows how much time would a WP application take being filed from US. I have been to the canada consulate site and it mentions 30 days which I guess would just be a general timeline and not sure whether that's calendar days or business days.

Justtheme... have you got your LMO approval ?

30 BUSINESS days is what they usually aim for, but there is a backlog at the moment so it is taking longer.

I applied LMO last week of August but haven't received it yet. Anyone on this timeline....who has heard from Service canada???

I applied at the beginning of September. My boss just got a call from Service Canada. They wanted to clarify some of the duties described in the job posting vs. what he wrote in the actual LMO application.

They said they will reach a decision by next Thursday and that there was no need for us to send anything else. I suppose that this is most likely good news, because they seem to want to make things work and they didn't ask for anything else.

Glad you had a response Justheme, you can count the days now! :) Hopefully it is my turn for next week or the week after.

Glad for you justtheme... guess then I have another couple of weeks of wait atleast. The most amazing part I now understand about Canada is that there is no concept of premium processing... unlike US.
