I have a query regarding the LMIA application:-

My employer is in the process of filing my LMIA application and they are wondering if it would be a good idea to include a spreadsheet with all the people that applied and why they consider its not a good fit. I am not too sure if its a good idea since we are giving away more information than asked.

Would appreciate any advice.

Thanks

They will ask for the proof of trying to hire people towards the end of the process.

Better not send too much info at the start

I'm about to go flagpole on Tuesday to get my and spouse work permits based on approved lmia. My employer have very busy schedule and plans for me for next week so we don't have time to apply online. I was thinking of going to Carway border crossing Alberta. Anyone have some experience with this crossing and cbsa officers?

i went to this crossing with no issues.

Thanks Jay, been hoping for your reply if you are still reading this thread :D
I am currently on temporary resident visa, my employer applied for extending my visitor visa based on waiting for lmia approval. Hope that's not gonna be a problem for officers

AFAIK you can apply for a work permit at the border only if you're form visa-exempt country

Nope, it wont. You did everything " by the book" so to speak, you were waiting for an approved LMIA so you changed to visitor(which is what i did) you go the border with all your paperwork, including your approval for work permit, answer a few questions,(which is fairly straight forward considering its all legit, its all straight forward from there out.

The drive sucks though, FYI...SOOOOOOOOOO BORING hehe.

This is my first work permit ever, i didn't work before. I came as a tourist, and then my company extended my visitor status while we were waiting for lmia. In the meantime me and my girlfriend got married here in Calgary so she can stay with me and get owp. I am from visa exempt country. That's why I'm asking if they -are gonna grill me at the border.

Hi guys,

I am going to apply my LMIA this week i just need few confirmations.

I am paid by 18.5$/hour+accommodation+meals+phone bills and other benefits which raise my salary to 26.11$/hour. According to my territory i am above median wage(25.96$/hour). So 26.11 is ok?

2nd can someone explain me more with which document i have to careful with while applying? Transition plan? my employer has to choose some activity?
my noc code is 0621 Retail and wholesale manager.. Can someone sum up my chances to get positive LMIA?

Just asked our employer if they can call again! It's apparently 10 weeks processing per SC and they had said a decision would be made in the last 2 weeks - no surprises there that that didn't happen.

All this waiting is starting to cause issues! I need to make other plans if it's not going to be positive.

NOC 7283
Alberta
Lodged 15 Sept 2014 approx
File # and payment 23rd Nov 2014

Is anyone else having progress?

Wish I knew why too! Ours is about the same timeline as you except we had to wait 2 months just to get file #.
2 weeks ago SC said it was at the stage of 8 weeks of processing time, my count of weeks is very different to theirs, maybe they didn't count Christmas :) so now at beginning of their so called 11th week and nothing as yet.
