Hi, girls...
I am wondering can I apply for the 'spouse open work permit' for my husband after I get the OWP ?

I couldn't wait that long... even the 2nd stage takes 13 months.

Anyone know it, Thank you.

you can apply for your husband's open work permit when you get your OWP...

How? Even if your husband is not yet here in Canada?

I am think to apply for the visitor VISA for my husband after I get the OWP.
but i am not sure if we could apply for a spouse open work permit.
I found it from CIC website.

If your spouse or common-law partner wants to work while in Canada, they must apply for their own work permit. Normally, they must meet the same requirements that you do, including obtaining (if needed) a labour market opinion (LMO) from Human Resources and Skills Development Canada.

However, your spouse or common-law partner may be eligible to apply for an “open” work permit that will allow her or him to accept any job with any employer if:

A. You are authorized to work in Canada for six months or longer and the work you are doing while you live in Canada meets a minimum skill level (usually work that would require at least a college diploma). Specifically, your job must be listed in Skill Level 0, A or B in the National Occupational Classification;

I know that too. We can only apply for their OWP if we are under the NOC A O B. Either you are a Doctor, Manager or a Supervisor..

With regards to visitor visa..it is also a 50/50 chances approval. I guess it all depends on the VO who will handle the application.

I'm very happy to see that cic processing time page.at least they're moving.im not giving up in calling them.I called them today and followed up my application.they said,it takes 15 mos for the vegrevillr to process the applications.so I have to wait on July 19, 2011.hopefully I can have it by the end of July.let's all keep praying that this will be continuously moving.

Let her file and put the husband as non-accompanying...its possible.

Yes, non accompanying, but the husband and kid must be medically examined.
