Thanks! I actually read it before posting my reply. Thank you for the info, maybe we will wait and see if cic will continue issuing owp even for those without LC2. Looking at the trend lately, those with lc2 are the ones receiving owp as of now. Thank you again for the info, it gave high hopes for my sister.

Can I join my question about a single mom and a small dependant child? Why does it spend so much time with LC2 kit for a child? Why it is so big difference in time between single applicants and applicants with dependents? I applied in February 2011, it is more than 9 months and still no one "Hi" from CIC.

your case will be like a single applicant case if you only have 1 small or minor dependant, this mean you have an advantage aong married aplicants with dependants..for the reason that every applicants has different time line this depends how fast cic vegrivelle will received the document requested like police clearance,medical results of dependant and how fast canadian embassy abroad act in every case. you have applied last february 2011 yet cic vegrivelle is just processing most single applicants from august 2010 and early september 2010 as of present date.

Im april 2010 applicant with dependants from phils. and abu dhabi.. so for me its more complicated bec. of different visa offices. My spouse got his LC2 kit last march 2011 @ abu dhabi and he submitted it on april 2011, but until now he doesn't recv AOR yet. ITs just bec. CIC abu dhabi was very slow in processing? My son in phils, who's now 10yrs old got his LC2 kit last feb. 2011 and submitted on march 2011, cic send him AOR on that month...now, my question is why april applicants with dependants doesn't release their owp yet?If they already send LC2 to our dependants abroad?? Is that bec. CiC canada are waiting for background checking for our dependants thats why they are holding our owp?/1st stage of approval? So therefore, it depends with our dependants case, if CIC abroad had finished assessing our dependants application before they will issue our owp??? NOw, we don't know when?? my heart was so depressed about it..Can we do something about it? How long can we wait? Only im asking for now is my open work permit... T_T

as what i have recently posted while ago and i corrected it..cic vegrivelle will grant you initial approval 1st or owp and then will request lc2 kit to your dependants, for the reason about background checking it is not only cic vegrivelle that involve with background checking but also the CSIS-Canadian Security and Intelligence Service who are also responsible in checking millions of immigrant applications around the world and this mostly the reason of delayed processing time.

Lastnight i have a pleasant dinner with my former boss and her sister (visa officer from cic vegrivelle) during our dinner i was able to ask her all the questions that i have gathered in this thread, but before i will share with you all the informations i would like first to ask an apology to all married applicants,because of my wrong quote/wrong information that i have posted here last august 2011 i missunderstood what she emailed to me regarding LC2. in my previous posting last august i wrote that "NO LC2 KIT RECEIVED NO OWP" this is not what she mean to me about her email. :-[ :-[ :-[ WHAT SHE SAID LAST NIGHT IS THAT NO LC2 CAN BE REQUESTED TO THE DEPENDANTS UNTIL CIC CAN GRANT INITIAL APPROVAL TO THE APPLICANTS... THIS IS WEATHER DEPENDANT'S ABROAD RECEIVED THE LC2 KIT OR NOT THIS DOES'NT MATTER.I DO NOW HOPE THAT THIS CORRECTED INFORMATION MAY GIVE LIGHT AND NEW HOPE TO ALL MARRIED APPLICANTS.

According to her LC2 kit is being requested ONLY to the LIC dependant living abroad (outside Canada)and because your dependants are here in Canada LC2 kit doesnt apply to you, just wait for your OWP maybe you can have it before the end of this year.

I'm a September 27, 2010 applicant, started processing Nov. 17, 2010..... Total waiting time 14months.... Maybe Cic is processing October 2010 single applicants next week since mine is Sept. 27th.
