Linc classes after AIP

I cant believe it I just got a call from the assessment center saying that my wife is not elegible I cant believe those idiots , I dont know what to do Im really pissed. It says everywhere that my wife is elegible because she has AIP this is ridiculous!

They didn't say anything except that my wife has to wait for the whole process to end which I'm sure is not correct because the officer at the interview we had said she is eligible when we specifically asked her about this.. stupid

According to the "official" LINC site, she is entitled to do the LINC once AIP is received.

I would suggest either going to the office (or sending an email) and show them.

Who can take LINC classes?

LINC is available to adults over the age of 17 who are permanent residents, convention refugees or those with Approval in Principle status (AIP).

I found the "official" CIC weblink also, which states:

Free language training in Canada

The Government of Canada offers free language training across the country to all qualified adult permanent residents—not just people looking for work. The government works closely with provincial governments, school boards, community colleges and immigrant-serving organizations to provide this service.

To qualify for training, adults must:

Have their English or French language skills assessed
Be an adult immigrant (older than the legal school age in your province or territory)
Be either a permanent resident or a newcomer who has been allowed to remain in Canada to whom Citizenship and Immigration Canada intends to grant permanent resident status and who has not become a Canadian citizen.

As long as she has the official AIP letter they cannot refuse to allow her to take LINC classes.



Edit: Here's a list of all the centres in Hamilton that offer LINC - perhaps going to a different one would be a way of circumventing the idiot you have been dealing with!

On every site I went to it says that she is elegible , they saw the AIP letter they even made a copy I just dont get why they refused her Im going to gather as much proof as I can and I will go there thanks for the links they are great .

Just an uppdate...

I contacted my MP and the assisstant said that they will contact immigration to c if people with AIP are eligible for LINC he got back to me yesterday and confirmed that yes they are eligible.
Im waiting for a call from him today.

I dont know where the LINC center got their info??
