PGWP May Applicant here, thought I'd add my timeline in solidarity.

Applied: May 15th. Was only prompted to pay $155.
Blank updates: May 17th, June 14th, July 14th, July 29th, August 6th, August 13th.
Still awaiting as of: September 9th (Day 117).

I just received a request to upload $100 receipt - applied on May 15th and had already sent the receipt through CSE on August 7th

Finally got an approval in my CIC status!!

Approved (no approval letter, just status → closed & decision → approved) day 171. (today, Sep 9, 2015)
Not mailed yet.

Had to involve 2 different MPs in this. (As was unable to reach mine directly). If anyone needs details - please pm because some of the details are private.

So, guys who are waiting, if you are really pressed for time by employer or other reasons - go and ask your MP. If not it is better to wait because MPs are really busy nowadays.

I applied for my work permit extension with the same employer on May 14th and still waiting as of today.

I have few concerns regarding my application

In form IMM5710, I made a mistake - where it says select your current status (point 7) and enter the "TO" and "From" time period. I entered wrong dates instead of putting my work permit validity dates.

Do you think this could be a reason for CIC officer to reject my application.

Is it indirect misrepresentation?

Any help will be highly appreciated

Hey Guys,

My PGWP timeline is as below.

Applied : April 28th 2015
Case specific enquiry for $100 Payment : July 6th
Blank Update: April 29th , July 10th , Aug 11th
Status - Open (120+ Days)

I spoke to a rep from the call centre and asked if they received my $100 payment and they have confirmed that they have. However, they do not have any idea of what the holdup is and cannot give me a timeline. I want to visit home and this is forever delaying the process.

Some of my friends who applied after me have received their confirmation. Can you guys please tell, if there is someone in a similar situation as mine. What should i do?

If I understand correctly, that is under Current country of residence.

If so, you should have chosen;

Status: student
From & To: Indicate according to your SP NOT WP. If you did that, then there shouldn't be a problem.
Of course that depends on when you entered Canada. Because by June 1, 2014 CIC stopped the issuing Off-campus work permits (OCWP) as a separate document.

I am not a student anymore. My PGWP expired in May and I applied for extension with my same employer through PNP nomination certificate and support letter. I have applied for PR now.

I selected worker under that category but did not provide the right dates as I put my study permit dates rather than work permit.

Well, now that we have more info its good to know. A lot of applicants make mistakes. CIC agents are human and understand that. I don't believe that its a misrepresentation of yourself. Having said that, I know that it can lead to the delay of processing your WP due to conflicting info.

However, if you provided a copy of your PGWP to satisfy the requirement of status at the time, then there is nothing to worry about. They will rectify the error.

I did not provide a copy of my PGWP as it was not requirement in my online application.

Or at least in the IMM5710E form you must have provided a document number for the most recent Visitor Record (TRV), Work Permit, etc. That should help the CIC agent working on your application to rectify the error.

That's where I think I made another mistake I thought they are just asking for recent visit document rather than recent document. I came here in 2012 and got study permit at that time and have never gone back to my home country till now.

I was in hurry to apply bcz I got support letter on May 14th which was the last day for me to apply for my work permit.

My hope is that somehow CIC agents won't care too much about it or if possible an oversight happens. Fingers crossed. Just wait and see what happens. Let us know as soon as you hear back from CIC.
