I applied on May 6th 2015 and I know a few people who applied the same day as me got their work permits. I hope mine comes soon!

Yeah I called again to CIC and the answer is still send to get amended. Earlier what I meant was under Permanent Resident Documents there's info of what can be corrected that includes name ans such and then there is Temporary Resident Documents and under that there are types of documents to be corrected. So my understanding is that the names and basic info was referring to the permanent residents but I could be wrong. Either way I will go to the border tmr and if that doesn't work I will send it in. Also want to remind everyone that's going to CBSA the work location might give you some trouble!

Hi there, I am under the same situation. Do you get your open work permit amended? Also, may I ask if your work permit mentioned "post grad work permit" anywhere under condition or remark please?

Hi friends,

As said in my last post, I reached out to my MP, who made an inquiry on my behalf, and got a response back today. CIC confirmed that they'd received my application and said the file had been referred for secondary review which will add 16 weeks (!) of process. I just called CIC and they couldn't provide much more information, other than the fact that having been sent for secondary review means they've already started working on it. I submitted May 20.

Anyone else encountered this? I thought my application was straightforward, but I guess CIC has a different idea! I asked if the 16 weeks was in addition to the stated processing time but the call agent couldn't say. I'm curious about that because the current processing time is approximately 16 weeks.

Please guide me on one issue. Today summary of my profile shows my PGWP is approved but details of profile status is "not started yet". What it actually means? I even didnt receive any email by cic yet. Is any body gone through the same situation? I applied on 28th May (online).

I just checked MyCIC and my application also says it's been approved! I got an email from cic saying my application has been updated. I also applied May 28th online and paid $255.

Hi Manas, I got blank updates on 7/31 and 8/6. I only learned it had been referred through my MP's inquiry -- not through any email from CIC.

I just checked MyCIC and my application also says it's been approved! I got an email from cic saying my application has been updated. I also applied May 28th online and paid $255.

Wow congrats.
I applied on May 15th for PGWP+restoration by paying $455. My first application was refused by not paying $100.

I have applied May 23rd (have originally posted in the May applicants thread) and only had 2 blank updates maybe 2 weeks ago...I see now that applicants from May 28th have gotten approval - should I be worried???
I have paid the 255$ full on the day of my application.

I just saw my work permit has been approved but on the status column it still says open? Is that normal?
I submitted mine on May 31st and got approved today.

Congratulations to all those who got their PGWP recently. I applied on May 15, still no update or request for that additional $100 receipt. Only got an email saying that the fees receipt of $100 is attached to my application, which i don't know means anything.
