Cocknbull,

Need advice.

My CAIPS done in June looks as shown below :

PSDEC : 1
SELDEC : 1
BDEC : <Its empty, there is nothing mentioned here>
MEDDEC : 0
FINDEC : 0
OREQ : 0

Points are awarded appropriately

PA has obtained sufficient points to satisfy me that he/she will be able to become economically established in Canada. I am satisfied that the points awarded to the applicant adequately reflect the applicant's ability to settle in Canada

CRIM passed

ECU - PLS REQUEST THE FOLLOWING:
-PPTs (current) x 3 (Should be for myself, spouse and son)
-expired PPTs
-MEDS x 3
-RPRF x 2

Im thinking of getting it done once again to know the next BF'D. Will it help?

Also, looks like what Iv received is CAIPS and not GCMS. Is there any difference in them? What sites to GCMS?

What is ur in process date dear?

Hi instant_karma, CAIPS and GCMS notes r different, GCMS being more indepth, if ur file is transferred from CAIPS to GCMS then only u can get the same , next question, how will i knw its transferred or not, its simle, if ur file starts from B its not transferred and if it starts from E then it has been converted, hope this solves.. ;)

Thanks for reply. On what basis are the files transferred from CAIPS to GCMS. My file number starts with Bxxxx. Is there anyway I can come to know of my file is transferred to GCMS? How will I come to know my Exxx file number?

Hi!

One thing is not correct in your post. GCMS has nothing to do with file no if starts form B or E. In fact from June 2010 all new visa files outside Canada have been processed through GCMS system. Check he following link. Thanks

http://caipsnotes.com/

GCMS is being rolled out to visa offices in a phased manner and we make sure that we always request the latest format available for your visa office. (As of June 2010, all new visa files outside Canada will be processed through the GCMS.)

Hi!

I assume you are an NDVO pre June applicant. Every thing is perfect for you. Just give it some time to get your medicals after clearance from ECU. You have passed he eligibility, criminality and paper screening.
Ordering another CAIPS won't help because there will be no BFD as they are awaiting clearance from ECU. My advice don't order another CAIPS.

Check my above post, you will always get CAIPS because you filed your application in April 2010 and GCMS was implemented in June 2010. Thanks

Yes you guessed it correctly, Im April 2010 applicant at NDVO. Is there a post where I can get more details about "ECU". What it means and what all things are involved in this stage.

Really Appreciate your help !!!

Dear there has been a lot of discussion about ECU before and many threads were created. In simple words it is a verification unit in NDVO who have a second look at your documents. But I guess there is nothing to worry about. If you have every thing genuine and in order you will sail through and you have already passed the eligibility which is the main hurdle. Good luck to you and sooner or later you will get your medicals. Thanks

Hi Navneet!

I am not too sure but it looks to me ECD is the name of your program assistant (juniior visa officer). Have you seen ECD at the bottom of any email your received from NDVO ? If yes he / she definitely is your program assistant. Thanks
