Hi everyone,

I plan on going to the US for a day trip and landing as a permanent resident on the way back to Canada. I am aware that they have special hours for flagpoling and applying for work/study permits: https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/settle-setablir-eng.html. However, I would like to go on a Friday or Sunday which would be outside these hours.

Did anyone of you (Canadian resident) land at the Lacolle land border recently? What time/day of the week did you land there? Did you enter the US or just turn around (flagpoling)? What was your landing experience?

Any advice is much appreciated!

Were you able to land without any problems? I'm also thinking of driving with my wife accross the border for a day so she can do her landing once we get her COPR.

Any expected issues as of lately?

I didn't end up going to the Lacolle border for landing but did it directly in the Montreal office on St. Jacques (see this post https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/montreal-inland-landing-walk-in.653325/). I did this on a walk-in basis i.e. without an appointment. Afternoons seem to be better for walk-ins since there is always a long line in front of the building in the morning.
