You will probably be OK. I have a family member who applied from the US with no status and had no problems applying and entering from over there without having to go back to her country of citizenship. Just make sure you're honest in your application especially the Background Declaration.

From Being a Refugee to Becoming a Dual Citizen – University Student Facing Troubles with Travelling (upcoming internship please help)

By law, to enter my country of origin I have to use that passport. I can't enter as Canadian unfortunately, and if I do, I get fined and they may not allow me to leave. But the border officers in Canada have never given me any trouble since becoming a citizen. They used to be very annoying when...

From Being a Refugee to Becoming a Dual Citizen – University Student Facing Troubles with Travelling (upcoming internship please help)

I'm surprised they gave you a hard time as a Canadian Citizen. Maybe if you had travel as a PR, but even then, you went to Cuba, not to Hungary, so why do they care about your status before you became citizen? Sounds like shitty border agents to me who just wanted to annoy you. With that being...

    ***DECEMBER 2018 OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP***

I didn't say press on any decision, but in my case they were able to put pressure on fixing their mistake, and literally sent me the document the same day that they contacted them. But I guess not every constituent office puts the same effort on what they can do, or maybe in my case it was...

    ***DECEMBER 2018 OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP***

Contact your local MP. I went to mine because they had lost my wife's CoPR and were playing dumb, and the staff was really helpful. I was told they have a direct line to CIC and the VOs, so they can really dig into what is taking them so long, and put pressure when possible, especially if it's...

Finally after the mistake from CPC Ottawa of losing our CoPR we received it yesterday and went across the border on Prescottto complete the landing. I had to involve my MP's office and thanks to that they were able to expedite resending the document, otherwise who knows how long we would have...

PPR to COPR Journey - PPR in JAN/FEB-19

So they finally reached back to me from CPC Ottawa by email after almost a month. Basically I have to resend all documents to get my wife's COPR reissued because it looks like they lost the original one (or don't want to look for it). All i can say is that I'm thankful she is from a visa exempt...

Everything I sent was via e-mail, but if they specifically asked to mail them in, then I would suggest to e-mail a copy first within the 15 days and telling them how you don't expect the hard copies will make it over to them on time.

    Lost CoPR

Hi all, I'm in a situation where the COPR was sent to the wrong address but from what I was able to get out of Canada Post it was actually returned to CPC Ottawa. Long story short, they messed up as they overwrote on the pre paid envelope I had sent and attempted to send a regional express...

    Mexico

Hi all, So kind of a bad experience even though the application is approved. Waiting on my wife's COPR because unfortunately the Mexico VO made the mistake of never updating my mailing address. I submitted a Webform, send them a reminder through e-mail more than once, and they even asked me to...
