Anyone needing to have police check in Canada so that they can work in health care need to go to one of the large police stations and fill in a form, the one i did is green which cost $45.00 per copy and $5.00 for an additional and you get it all done and get the result in about half an hour.

Hello everyone, this information supplied by lionheartleo2001 is true for Toronto as that is where I had my fist Canadian Police check done but the cost is different in each city or town. Some town or city charge $25.00 and $5.00 for each additional copy. In Manitoba one town I stayed in they charge $10.00 so it all depends on where you are.

Hi vishal Shrestha, I live in Ontario but I am currently working in Manitoba. I am on an assignment with a travel nursing agency.

so much great info in this thread!

Especially for nurses! Thank you so much iblessed

I have a friend who is moving to Canada as well and is a nurse and can't decide between Alberta and Ontario. Which province is easier getting the license and which province has better prospects for nurses?

iblessed, I just went thru this thread. I find this thread very very informative, thanks a lot for sharing. I will have my wife go thru this thread too. Hopefully we'll make it to Canada too, soon by God's Grace. We're stuck in FBI clearance. My wife already started the process for registration, she's American trained.

Stay blessed!

Thank you kuskus, I am very happy to be of help in sharing my experience and the information I have. All the best to you and your wife and please keep in-touch.

Hello chasinglight I don't know which Province would work best for you to get your licence because they have their own individual requirements. you can apply to both or choose depending on where you want to live, lots of Nurses have two or even three licences.

There are lots of Nursing jobs in both of these Province and all over Canada. All the best with your application and for the future.

Thanks iblessed. It's actually not for me. It's for a friend who is a nurse whose application for PR is in it's final stages but she isn't on the forum so trying to get advice for her.

Ok, all the best for your friend. I would also suggest that your friend if applying for a RN license to apply also for RPN as it seems it is easier to get license as a RPN.
