Hi,

What's the easiest way to get your fingerprints done in JA?
Hey Jaywhy13, this thread is a little quiet these days- please feel free to join the new Kingston thread here: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/kingston-jamaica-new-application-as-of-dec-7-2016.487168/

To answer your question, are you referring to fingerprints for a Jamaican police record check? You should be able to visit any local police station. A TRN number is required, and I think the cost is around $1500 JAM. You can also read more on the CIC website here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/central-south-amer/jamaica.asp

Hope that helps :)

Hi guys, I am a Jamaican and my girlfriend is a Canadian. We have been together for 3 years and we are going to get married soon. I would like some guidance and how to prepare and submit our application correctly. We are thinking of doing all paper works whilst she is here so when she return to Canada she can send them in. Under the new system how does one do a up front medical and police clearance? Is there anything I should not do when completing the paper works to avoid delays?
Yes EasyFlo - Also have Pictures of your times together follow the online application, try to get pictures that shows dates, that is helpful as well. Just set up yourself to have all the proper documents, get your appt for the Medical and Police clearance. If there is nothing in your past you will be fine, one step at at time is all it takes.

You both can try to apply for a visitors visa or you can decide if you want to get married and apply for spousal sponsorship.
from start to end some people are getting by with as little as 4 months and some up to 9 months still very reasonable considering it used to be up to two years.
Well said, Jamaicansnowflake - it really used to be 2 years mines was almost a year.

destinyjan2can - Exactly you have to decide if you want to get married of have your member apply for a Visitors Visa

When I file my taxes. I need to claim his income, so he provides his yearly salary and i convert income to cdn $. I received a letter from CRA a few months back asking if he immigrated as of yet.
Please be advised when you place your hubby and CRA is aware and your hubby gets a good paying job it combines with your income, I've seen many people struggle each tax year. In box me for further details. Send me a message.

All the application details are online, simply follow the guide. I would advise that you write a cover letter to include your whole love story. Cover things that may a red flag. There is a new application which many have not used, but I see that CIC has done extra things to ensure the application is filled out properly
What would be things that are considered a red flag.

Hi Munchiie, this thread is not really active. You can follow this one which is more active: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/kingston-jamaica-new-application-as-of-dec-7-2016.487168/page-51#post-6407548

Also, by red flag she means things that immigration would have an issue with for instance no family members were present at the wedding, etc etc. Anything that the visa office would have an issue with, its best to fully explain it in your letter.
