Welcome Toni876, I'm pretty new here myself. This forum is a wealth of information and knowledgable persons. I've asked so many questions and gotten lots of great answers. Everyone on here is patient and understanding. I realized quickly that when users said its like a family it really was. Welcome to the family!

Shortyp2000 is the administrator of a spreadsheet that logs our processing (as long as we update her) she can add your info too. Just post things like when your application was submitted and when you've received your acknowledgment of receipt and she will include you.

So dhl delievered my package just now....to say im happy rite now is an understatement. Boy....this feeling ...omg...after 10 months im finally gonna be with my hubby...our first xmas together....jeez...did i say i was overwhelmed with happiness? Omg...
Shortyp, meljam in the earlier days...all you other ladies..i cnt express my gratitude well enuf...thank you guys so so much for all ur well wishes. Landing story shortly...planning on doing so next week.

An update from me... Hubby has a job and starts working in Tuesday!!!

Congrats. Thats wonderful!! Always a good thing for our hubbys. Gives them some independence as well as a paycheque!

It takes time but every case is different i start processing in june but still waiting for ppr so you need lots of patients for this journey. This group is great support

Hey Chucky44, I've been pondering the same thing. I'm pretty sure it means a delay for "non-urgent" applications. Every now and again they stop processing applications for months because of one reason or another. This definitely would be one of those reasons. They will probably have applications sent to the "backlog" office to hold them until processing can resume. I only hope for a miracle where they'll rush to get us through first. Hopefully this won't affect the persons whose applications have already been transferred to visa offices outside Canada. This 25,00 before year end is going to be a sight to behold. God bless us all.

Welcome to the forum!
If you case is straight forward, then its about 99% chance that it will be a year or less. Average right now is approx 10 months. Just make sure you have everything together before they ask for it. And we can help advise you along the way! When you send off your info, let me know. I will then add tou to the spreadsheet (you can also check it out to see how people have been getting thru)

Hello and Good Evening All...
I need some serious advice.
I have been with my fiancé for a year and a half.
We first decided to do the TRV (Temporary Resident Visa) but we were denied twice. (Mainly because he did not have enough ties to Jamaica!
We are planning to get married in Aug 2016, however, now with the delay in obtaining the visa, I am thinking we should just have a small ceremony to start the process for sponsorship and then still continue to plan a bigger wedding in Aug.
QUESTIONs:
Should I obtain an immigration lawyer to help with the process?
Since he was denied twice for the visa, will that compromise being sponsored?
How long does the sponsorship process typically take?
I work as a contractor... most of my contracts are 6moths to 8months with a lag period of a month, will this hinder me being able to sponsor him?
He has a daughter in Jamaica, and North Carolina ... do we include them in the sponsorship?
please help...Thanks in Advance!!
