Hi all - big congrats to all of those who have received such good news, especially those waiting so long. For all those still waiting for PP to be returned - hang in there - it will be over soon.
By way of update, I requested our notes to see what was written about our approval. Well let's say the notes are NOT comprehensive. Here is a snapshot:
Dec 9 "Review of application and supporting documentation satisfies me to the genuineness of this marital relationship. Supporting documentation includes photos, proof of ongoing telephone communication and copies of Jamaican and Canadian passports to show travel together, to reflect the development and progression of this relationship. First marriage for sponsor, second for PA, neither has children. Divorce Absolute from PA first marriage on file. Copy of Marriage certificate for State of Nevada, USA. clear Jamaican police certificate on file, no evidence of residency outside of Jamaica."
Then it looks a second person reviewed and it says:
Dec 10 "Review of forms; no apparent concerns. Always lived in Jamaica; no overseas declared residence. Clean police certificate. Crim. passed."
We got Decision Made on Dec 15 along with a PPR.
I am not suggesting that there wasn't a detailed review of our application, as I am sure there was (and we did have a lot of photos and a lot of passport stamps showing travel to the US, Jamaica and Europe so looking back, my stress over them saying no was clearly unfounded) but it is amazing to me that once they finally get to your file, they can really push it through quickly if everything is in order.
In terms of settling in, last night I went to bed first and hubby got in the shower. Hearing him singing in the shower while I was lying in my bed at 11pm was the best thing in the World. It really is the little things that you find the greatest pleasure and joy in once they arrive.
Happy Friday everyone ;D ;D ;D
