Thank you, I will pass info to sammystorm,

I s anyone ever try to talk to an immigration journalist about this problem with Kingston. I think the processing time behind ridiculous, something ain't right there…There was an article in the Toronto Star this summer about inland sponsorship, how slow the process is and they even confront the immigration minister with some questions.

My husband and I had our consultant complete our package for us. He has had success bringing a sponsored spouse over in 3 months from Africa....He said that my husband should be here within 1 year of the medical which was completed in March 2014. He also mentioned that when you complete your application, you should pay all fees including PR or it will delay your file significantly. It actually only takes a few months to process but they don't rush completed applications for some reason.

I really pray for the best...I do see all of you ladies and gentlemen have been waiting for quite some time and I hope you get through soon, as well as my husband and I.

Hi Jessie and welcome!!! I definitely wish you all the best with having your application processed as soon as possible, but please don't get your hopes up in being processed in a year or less. It DOES happen to some, but be aware that we have all paid our fees in advance, ensured our certificates did not expire and so on and so forth... and we are waiting a year or MORE. I personally know of someone who paid an immigration lawyer just over $7,000 CAD to have her husband's application processed and it went through only a month before my husband's and we didn't pay anyone anything.

I'm not trying to be a "debbie downer", I'm just trying to be a realist. Because on that same note, we here on this forum have seen people not use anyone and get through in 9-10months! So there is always a chance!!!! Please stay with us and keep us updated on your story so that we can compare statistics.

:D Nini

Question ladies: How long did it take for your husband to receive some id number so that he can check his status? Also, was is it sent by email, letter, phone call? Hubby hasn't received anything and I received the approval for sponsorship in July.

Our ID numbers were received with our SA. We got our File# and both Client IDs

I was originally going to to and get him... and based on finances, I think he will be flying here solo... but he's nervous and excited! Depending on when he comes, he will be flying alone... unless it's October, then I will be going to get him... I guess we will see!

Hi Jessie, As Nini said....using a immigration consultant doesn't always speed things up. Us who didn't use one uses the same process as a consultant. There have been others on here that have used them and have waited just as long or longer than others. It's the same as using a lawyer. I am NOT saying it's wrong to use an outside source at all but in all honestly it's just more money that you need to spend however it's a piece of mind for some knowing that their package isn't missing anything and it's complete. Everyone needs to go by the posted times on the CIC website and there is no way to speed things up. IT SUCKS!!! Believe me WE all know it does and we all wish there was a way to speed things up

Lets hope you are one of the lucky ones who get through before the 1 year mark...it's happened before but I am also being a real here and not trying to be a downer at all. WE are all here for support as this process is one of the hardest things you will ever have to go through. So please doesn't feel discouraged at all with what I said. I've been on here for so long and have seen sooooo much happen on here. I'm kind of like the Mama bear I guess.... :)

BTW - I have the info that you added on here and will update the spreadsheet tonight. I was really busy this weekend and haven't had the change to update this weekend.
