My husband and I had our consultant complete our package for us. He has had success bringing a sponsored spouse over in 3 months from Africa....He said that my husband should be here within 1 year of the medical which was completed in March 2014. He also mentioned that when you complete your application, you should pay all fees including PR or it will delay your file significantly. It actually only takes a few months to process but they don't rush completed applications for some reason.

I really pray for the best...I do see all of you ladies and gentlemen have been waiting for quite some time and I hope you get through soon, as well as my husband and I.

Welcome to the JAMFAM Jessie!

As Nini and Sammy stated using a consultant or lawyer does not speed things up. Believe me if it did I would have gladly paid the $$ to have my hubby here sooner. I agree that you do need to pay all your fees otherwise it will add time to your file just bc KGN will need to contact you to pay them and they give you 30-60 days to do so and then they pick up your file after that. Also keep in mind that all immigration offices across the world have different processing times (i.e. Cuba 8 months, DR 14, Rome 9, etc.) so the "3 months for Africa" may have been bc it was a faster office (even though that seems excessivily fast and unfair for countries waiting 25 months!!!).

Good Morning and Happy (ugh) Monday JAMFAM!! I am back from 10 days in JA with my hubby where we were able to celebrate our 1 year anniversary together. It was lovely and beautiful! So very happy that I was fortunate enough to be able to do that ;)

BTW we did go to DHL to send hubby's new PC to KGN while I was there. KGN did not ask for it but thought it a good idea to send it so that when they FINALLY do pick up his file there will be nothing missing (fingers crossed) that they will need to request from us except the PP!

NOW KGN come on and send out some PPRs!! They should be wrapping up all their student visas now so hopefully we will have an explosion of PPRs coming our way!!! Let the chant continue....

FYI - courier to KGN with letter and PC was $900. That is one way not sure how much for the waybill for the return of PP. Can anyone tell us that? Also tracked DHL this morning bc first time I have been able and package was received and signed for on Friday afternoon so that is is one day after it was sent.

Welcome Back THOR, glad u enjoyed anniversary with the hubby

Jessie,

I'm just reading the responses to your post and I want to reiterate that we are, in no way, trying to slam your use of a consultant, we just want you to have realistic expectations compared to the promises he may have made you. It is all 100% luck when it comes to immigration and we actually have a few terms for the process:

-Kingston Lottery
-Dig Deep
-"May the odds be ever in your favor"

:D :D :D :D

Welcome back THOR! So glad you had fun with hubby and that you were able to send off that PC! hubby's just waiting for the PC to come back and then I'll have him courier it off as well, 900 isn't bad at all.
