Hey JamFam,

Hope everyone is doing well :)

Congrats NTBWH; pp on the way and a tablespoon of dark purple coming up

JDubs; its real girl, enjoy the rest of your lives together and all the best :D

A big welcome to all the newbies and God's favor on your journey.

Lexi; thanks for sharing that post, I will definitely be signing that petition

Josephine,

Just wanted to say; as a Jamaican, patois is not a language but a dialect from the English Language. It's great that your hubby is doing this test but personally I would say that he speaks English; just not standard English and I guess just needs to strengthen his language and communication skills to be easily understood.

Good night everyone! Last night my husband and his daughter landed in Toronto! I met him in Toronto so we could fly home together. He got through immigration and customs quickly and easily. I was so excited waiting for him to pass through those doors. When he did come through we hugged each other so tight. We stayed in a hotel last night as we had an early flight out this morning to take us home. I didn't sleep at all. I was too busy watching him, afraid that if I went to sleep I'd wake up and realize it was all a dream. We arrived home at 10:30 this morning and were met by family and friends at the airport to give a big Canadian welcome! As I write this he is fast asleep laying next to me. What a fantastic feeling having him home. I'm very blessed.
To all of you that are still waiting the end result is so worth the wait!

Welcome to Canada Mr. JDubs!!!

What a beautiful landing story JDubs!! It is real girl so enjoy and savour every moment ;) . Please keep us posted as he and your daughter settle into (I believe you said Edmonton AB) their new life! God bless and I truly wish you all the best :)

Did you end up trying to call CIC to see about the R243 and how much needs to be paid?

And yes....hopefully this is all they need before PPR request!!!

I didn't call CIC, but my husband called the High Commission office this morning.

We have a feeling that they're going to request the original marriage certificate since they've requested the original for everything else so we're just going to send it in anyways so they don't delay the PPR request - do you think that that's a bad idea? Also, has anyone ever been required to do an interview right at the end? (I'm trying to think of anything else they could do to delay us...)

My husband overstayed his visa.

Hello there I can relate to your story. he will get to come back just need to pay the fee. My husband paid his own airline ticket when he was leaving, so he will not be charged a $1000 fee when returning back. Did they not give you guys a choice ??? ............. they did with us; "either you pay or we pay" and if we pay you own us $1000 upon return if you pay, you owe us nothing only $400.00 for ARC fee.

Regardless you will need to pay the ARC fee.

If it was just a one year ban no ARC fee is needed. We had a memeber on here who's husband had a one year ban and no ARC fee was needed. It's only needed when it's a life time ban

Hi MrsG and welcome! :)

We were asked to submit original marriage cert before we got PPR; so I do recommend you send it; anything that has a possibility of causing a delay, always try to be ahead with.

Really?? Who else had to submit original marriage certificates? I ask bc why not ask for it when we send in all the other documents to Ottawa which is then forwarded to KGN? I believe it was only a photocopy that was required. I have both copies of our marriage certificate here so maybe I should bring one down for him to keep and send if asked by KGN. Anything else original that they may ask for that I should leave with him? (besides his passport and birth certificate of course which he has)

I had submitted a certified copy( with application), they didn't ask for original,Just to re-do medical, PC, updated schedule A, you should definitely leave a copy with him ;)

They don't always ask for originals when you get PPR request. Some VO agents ask for Birth and Marriage certificate others don't ask for them at all and just ask for your passport.

You will get all originals back though then your spouse gets their PP back

:)
