I feel you, but I took comfort in this little known fact: some VO's, particularly New Delhi and Manila request your passport as soon as they begin working on your file, so it's different from us. It's not a sign of finality or even decision made, as many people wait several months after surrendering their passport before getting PR. So take all those ppr's with a grain of salt!

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome; it's so nice to have found a place where we can all relate to one another.

Here is my/our (long) story (short):

I travelled to Negril, JA in January 2009 for a friend's wedding and my husband (to be) was working at the resort I was staying at. We spent a lot of time talking and I thought he was a really nice guy and that was it. He asked me for my phone number and I honestly didn't think he would ever call me. As soon as I returned to Canada and walked through my front door there was a message from him wanting to know if I made it home okay. I returned to Negril in May 2009 to celebrate my birthday and as they say, the rest is history. We got engaged in August 2010, and were married in January 2012, three years to the day we met.

As a side note (incase anyone cares!) I live in Manitoba.
